Hammer Bullets Fur Hammer. The perfect Tiny Ten bullet?

I used a suppressed .375 with solids for a klippie. Recoil wasn’t bad. Not a bad way to go, but the hammer option is intriguing.

Everyone suggested a .375 or larger in a solid.

A 375 H&H to shoot a 30 pound animal? Tina said NOPE!
I used my .375 RUM with 270 gr Barnes TSX bullets on one South African hunt for 2 Steenboks, a Vaal Rhebok, and a Jackal. The holes weren't bad enough that my taxidermist couldn't fix them.

I've had a hard, unsuccessful time finding 7mm FMJ bullets for my 7mm RM and ended up swaging .308 FMJ bullets down to 7mm, but I haven't been able get any better than 3 moa accuracy with them. A 7mm Fur Hammer bullet looks promising.

Depending on what weight you prefer, something like might be worth asking Steve if he could make a batch in the Fur Hammer configuration.

I think part of the problem with all copper bullets in a long pointy sharp nosed configuration is twist rate. It's not weight that presents the problem, it's length. A longer/heavier bullet at a slower velocity would obviously do less damage, but at a certain point it becomes to long for most factory twist rates to stabilize.

@buffybr I found the Privi FMJ shot 1 1/2 MOA or better with handloads in my 7RM.

@Hyde Hunter I would be willing to sign on for a 100 of the 404gr solids if he will gin up a batch.

AZDAVE, no thanks, I will shoot their 404 Stone Hammers and did take 2 buffalo with them but a bunch of us tried to get Steve on board but his comment was why" the 404 works fine. I have since moved on to the CEB 400gr .770 Safari Solid I shot a buffalo form one end thru the other and is still going. Riflecrank on the campfire is the one that got Steve to make the 404 Stone Hammer but he had to buy I think 500 if I remember correctly before Steve would make them.

No worries, I am solidly in the CEB and Northfork camp just thought of trying a solid by hammer for the .458 platforms as a comparison. Don't need 500

I think the Hammer will loose about 100 grains when the front breaks off. Would be great for Eland or one of the hard to kill animals, but did work great on my first buff at 30 feet.just wish I had the bullet to see how it did. The 150 gr bullets in my 30.06 loose almost 75 grains on the ones recovered, but that's only 5 out out of 20 animals.I will use them if buff hunting and looking for a plains game animal at the same time and might take a 300 yard shot.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
