Welcome to our group! You will find quite a few kindred spirits who are pretty leery of any of this post WWII nonsense (well maybe not when housed in a Blaser R8 / S2 or a Rigby - but I digress). Unlike the plastic things, I am convinced classic rifles and cartridges have souls - or at least fey spirits that accompany us on our adventures whether in the back pasture or across an ocean. Look forward to hearing more.

Hi to all comrades in arms. I am a Namibian and South African citizen. I was born, with a gun in hand, and raised on a farm in the north-western part of Namibia known as Damaraland. I now life, part time, in South Africa. I have hunted in various countries including the US and Canada. I collect famous fire arms, being arms that are famous by Make; Design, Function, Tradition or Calibre. The corner stone of my collection being the Mannlicher Schoenauer rifle. Of which I have all models and only short a few calibres, which are hard to find in South Africa.

I live in California's Sierra Nevada, near the southern entrance to Sequoia National Park.

Not much chance at elephant or hippo here, but there are plenty of rather 'beefy' feral hogs which are non native, invasive, and destructive.
