Getting Close!

Less than 3 weeks out from 3rd Safari in South Africa. We will do long layover in London to do a little sightseeing, spend night at Afton in Johannesburg, 10 Days in 2 different camps in Free State & Eastern Cape, then 3 Day Photo Safari in Kruger. Bigger group going as 4 hunters and their wives, including my youngest son (30). Finishing most of my plains game as Sable, Eland, Black Impala, Golden Wildebeest and Bushbuck on the agenda. Other suggestions on another less common animal to take? Have funds to do at least one more and am somewhat undecided.

Time is definitely nearly standing still I am ready to go so bad. It has been 3 years since our last trip.

I haven't shot a tsessebe yet. Have sat and observed them on several occasions. But when I have seen them I was concentrating on other animals and my budget ran out before the Tsessebe made it to the "Yes lets put a stalk on list"

Tsessebe are about the plainest looking of all African antelope. I wouldn't want one on my wall. I suggest red lechwe. They are beautiful whether shoulder or euro mount.

I took a very nice lechwe last trip. Has anyone taken a Vaal Rhebuck? My outfitter has mentioned several times that he thinks it is one of the best hunts in Africa.

We are doing the black taxi private tour of London, rented two taxis. We have been to London, but the other three couples have not, will be fun. Good luck to knuckleball, ya'll will have a blast and probably be hooked. Really thing about the Vaal!

Week from Friday! Looking forward to seeing Kruger as well. Staying in Marloth Park and will enter through Crocodile Bridge entrance. Thanks for all the input on extra animals. Will be sure and write detailed report with pictures when we get back!

Vaal rhebok is specifically an east cape species and would be high on my list of your ph has access to them. There are fallow and mtn reedbuck in the same country and sometimes aoudad.
Springbok are easy fun and come in several colors which seems to follow your plan. Usually pretty affordable-

Vaal Rhebuck for sure. Mountain Reedbuck and different springbucks while you're in the area.

Thanks, my buddy is finishing his Springbok Slam. I have taken a Copper and Black. Am for sure considering the Vaal!

I took all five springbuck last September. Having them all mounted together. Looking forward to getting them back.
