Former Rep. Heck, Who Lobbied for PETA, Kills Zebra on Safari

Good for him for going hunting. BOO for taking a job representing PETA.

Or maybe he took their money and knew the bill was DOA?

Thanks for sharing

Congratulations Joe.

I hope you enjoy your hunt.

 Excellent choice..... Beautiful & delicious! :ROFLMAO:

Just goes to show you that some people will do anything for money. Also shows us why nothing gets done in Washington.

I personally wouldn't represent PETA on any matter. He did sign on to lobby for them on a very specific piece of legislation that is pretty far removed from hunting.

I wouldn’t lobby for PETA if my career depended on it. Just another scumbag for sale to the highest bidder...
I think you might be a little hard on him. I have no idea what your line of work is, but don’t most of us try very hard to get the best value out of our talents, businesses, and yes, even connections, that we possibly can? A former politician or Congressional staffer has a particular and somewhat perishable skill set built around how to get things done in Washington. That is a fairly valuable commodity to a lot of organizations. As noted above, the legislation had nothing to do with hunting.

I would agree, however, he dowsn’t have the common sense God gave a goat if is posting hunting pictures on social media and he is planning to continue consulting for a general consulting firm in today’s hysterical socio-political environment.

I don’t care what the legislation was about. As a hunter, he shouldn’t have lobbied for PETA. Also, former members of Congress shouldn’t be allowed to be lobbyists. On another note, the US House of Rep terms and elections shouldbe changed to every four years instead of two years. In today’s political climate, Congressmen and women are continually running for office which makes them afraid to take a stand and get things done.

4 year terms sounds good, and forbidden from lobbying, but the bigger thing, TERM LIMiTS! No more lifetime politicians!

Could it be possible that the PETA money funded the safari? Take their money and have fun with it.

Congress has term limits: 2 years and 6 years
Don't like 'em, work to defeat 'em.

Congress does NOT have term limits. They have a term length. But to try and say they have term limits as the vast majority of the country understands them, is disingenuous.

Hard to defeat Congressman if they live in a different district, and same for Senators that are out of state.

I was a member of peta when I was in SA, people eating tasty animals! lmao:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'm a proud member of PETA and my guess is he interpreted PETA to mean the same as the other members of AH......People Eating Tasty Animals.

Those unaware donors were scammed into donating money that allowed a "former" politician the opportunity to go on safari.

What better way to spend the other PETA organization's money? than to actually support animal conservation. Even though it was spent in Africa, on zebra, rather than on; ie: an elk in Montana (or other such big game species in the USA).

I have often thought that if I could figure out a way to scam PETA, HSUS, My Dream for Animals, etc. take their money and give them nothing, I would do it. After all, that is what they do to get their funding from the simple minded. A bit of turn about seems fair.
