Finally, my 9,3x62...better than expected!

That's a classic right there.

Congrats on the find. I hope it performs like it looks.

Yes, I think the same, looking at the bolt and the magazine.
As I said, I am amazed by the quality of the polishing, blueing and machining of this ZKK!! Much better than the others I have had. All made after 1968...
Almost all CZs/Brnos are better the older they are. I do like the CZ550 but seem to like ZKK better, I like the ZKK but seem to like the earlier ones better, I do like the early ZKKs but seem to like the 21H/22F better, I like the 21h/22f the most but the earlier models are nicer than the later ones. Go figure. There was simply more attention paid to detail and overall craftsmanship at the factory in the older days. Now, like any company, they try to cater to huge world markets at lowest cost. This means cheaper products and poorer QA. :(

Very nice. I have a 9.3 & have grown fond of it. I also love the CZ rifles I own. You may want to try the set trigger. I have grown to really love the one on my CZ 22 Hornet.

Hi Ernie,

The set trigger in the new CZ series is entirely different, and a lot better by the way, than the one in the ZKK. I also like it!

I wish they still made rifles like those old BRNOs. Sort of like pre 64 and especially pre war Winchesters but maybe better. I have one but I wish I had more.

Beautiful rifle in my favorite calibre. I have ZG47 in 9,3x62 and ZKK600 in 275Rigby.
Congrats Clodo Ferrerira.
Witold

Thank you Witold. My goal was a ZG47 in 9,3x62....!!! But, well, for now I am satisfied with the ZKK...!

Witold,

Is too much to ask you to show here some pictures of your ZG47 9,3x62?

Sorry and thank you!

I would like to contradict politely, if I may,
I've the same in .375 HH.
Its a rough iron.
A Winchester 70 is much better for the(almost)same money.
Foxi

Hi Foxi,

I agree the ZKK of the 70's and 80's are very roughly finished! I have had 3 of them, all .308 W ZKK 601.
I am refering to this pre 68 ZKK. Another gun, period! A way better machined, finished, polished and blued!
By the way, I have an original Win 70 Pre-64 (made in 1953) .375 H&H. And it is certainly a little better finished, mainly inside the action and the working bolt, than my 1967 ZKK. Not in the exterior. This Winchester load 4 cartridges in the magazine and loading and ejecting them with the bolt is like there were no cartridges at all....I have no other rifle as smoth as this Pre-64 .375. Also is VERY accurate from the bench and the trigger has much to do with their shootability.

Either you are a BRNO , CZ man or not. I have a ZKK601 (270), ZKK600(.375), CZ550 Battue (9.3x62), and a CZ po7. You don't buy them for fit and finish, you buy them because they work and won't let you down and they were build on a recipe that works for Africa. A little like a Land Cruiser bakkie. This is no John Deere, it is one of the old Internationals or Fordsen tractors.

Hi spekieries,

Yes, indeed!! I am a BRNO man since 1977. Have had, as said, 3 ZKK 601 .308 Win (now only one, the first from 1977 with the pop up peep sight and barrel band front swivel). My actual inventory: a BRNO Nr 2 (1965), a BRNO Nr 4 the bull barrel with orthoptic match sight (1957), and this ZKK 600 9,3x62 (1967). That roughness of the last ones from the late 70's on, smooth with the use of the gun! The ZKK were not perfect, but a very good hunting tool, much better than many more expensive rifles.

Thank you Witold! Great rifles. Las year I made a BIG MISTAKE. In a Buenos Aires gunshop I was offered a ZG47 in 7x57 (also a favorite cartridge of mine, using one Mauser 7x57 as my first and only big game rifle for 20 years...), with an original scope mount and an old Meopta 3x20 scope. All for a really ridiculous price. I said "tomorow will pick it up...". Next day was too late...!!!! When I arrived with the money, the gun was already sold that same morning. I am still kicking myself...

I really like your rifle, and have 5 of the various Brno rifles myself. I recently picked up a ZKK600 that was fitted with a ZG47 barrel in 9.3x62. I can see that your rifle has better fit and finish, and the pop up peep sight is also lacking on mine. I will turn my rifle into a rough use utility tool, with a synthetic stock and rustproof finish. It should be perfect for that purpose, and very reliable.

Great rifle(my favourite-I have 4 on ZKK actions, 3 with pop up peep sight) and a great cartridge. Congratulations.
