Favourite quotes - Here's mine, Quite a long list. What's yours?

“ Ain’t what the little monkey wants that makes him shit, it’s what he eats”

Dad, when told I wanted a new bike

Lost on me??…but sure my Dad had some sayings that I didn’t understand either…he still made his point

I recently met a guy who was once my subordinate. And he remembered my favorite remark (I forgot it myself): A hasty hare always has a dirty ass

A sign I have hanging in my office:

"The more I get to know some people, the more I like dogs."
They write that the authorship belongs to a certain Madame de Sevigne (hell knows who it is), and then it was quoted by Heinrich Heine, who was read and quoted by Hitler. Nevertheless, the remark is correct. A dog is a highly moral being.

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

― Albert Einstein

“One doesn’t often meet a violent man who has learned that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent”

“It is a fool who thinks a violent man who has embraced peace has forgotten how to be violent”

“Those who hammer there swords to plow shears will plow for those who don’t”

When a mosquito lands on your testicles, you learn that problems can be solved without violence…

Finally watched ‘Oppenheimer’ the movie. I hesitated in case it had gross historical errors that would ruin the effect of the movie. Well, except for some artistic license common to all such productions, it was fairly accurate in content and context, IMO. Oppenheimer was a very brilliant and complex individual who studied different languages, cultures and religions like Hinduism. He enjoyed his privacy and occasional solitude and retreat. These escapes were usually very brief by necessity and away from the bomb project at Los Alamos.

Here is one more worthy of repeat:

"Never pick a fight with an Old Man. He may be too weak, tired, and frightened to fight back, and he may be too crippled and slow to run away. Soooo, He will just Kill You!"

I always like to add also, that a life sentence doesn’t mean as much to an old man

"You can learn something from anyone, even if it's what NOT to do." My grandfather.

"You will always have a chance to do it right the second time." Chief Julian Salas. He was my chief when I was a young noob in the Navy.

Plus the two at the bottom of this post.
My grandfather had a similar one! "You can learn something from the town drunk if you follow him around long enough. It will probably be what not to do, but you will learn something."

"I want to go out peacefully, like my grandfather did....not screaming like everyone else in the car"
From my Dad: "Keep your mouth shut and no one will know you're a damn fool."

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
