EuroOptic Nonsense

I'm sorry it took me so long to see this, Alas I was out of the office on Friday chasing turkeys here in PA..

Any order over $500 placed on the website will require a signature upon delivery, We have found this significantly cuts down on credit card fraud, as well as helps both parties involved very heavily should a package be stolen or come up missing.

However, we are aware this can be a headache for some of our customers
If anyone would like to place an order, and ensure that there is no signature requirement / any special shipping instructions - just shoot me a message or give us a call at the number listed in my signature, I will ensure the order goes thru seamlessly
AH Members that order thru me ( Jake ) directly; also enjoy AfricaHunting.com pricing on 90% of our products!

I see you wrote me a message on Friday, I will be looking into this order & be in touch with you shortly.

My problematic dealings with UPS and "signature required" regardless of my purchases was ALWAYS UPS, not the vendor/merchant. EuroOptics don't want their merchandise returned; they want the customer to be happy. It's a UPS thing. You should be able to arrange a pick up at the respective UPS warehouse or store. I had to do that once with FedEX and I'm very happy I made that decision. I did have to call the receiving facility nearby and coordinate, but it was worth it.

I’ve been using a UPS Store as a shipping address for close to 15 years and never had an issue.

The only issue I’ve run into is when the USPS delivery driver tries to deliver before they are open. And they know full well EXACTLY when the store opens…they are just lazy.

I’ll wager your beef is with UPS
This right here.

I had a similar experience with a high-value item being delivered, but with FedEx. After waiting all day, they sent notification "attempted not home" and a photo showing the door to a house. Except it wasn't my house and the construction style didn't match any house on my road!

Fortunately the vendor had not yet closed for the day and they contacted FedEx to get the ball rolling. The vendor told me that this was fairly common with their shipments, as the drivers sometimes couldn't make all of their scheduled deliveries for the day and would just take a photo of a random house to show "attempted." The FedEx driver (different driver) who eventually completed the delivery the following morning told me pretty much the same thing. And to underscore the matter further, the tracking showed the FedEx vehicle a good 50 miles away from my house and then two minutes later sent the "attempted not home" message.

Now what if I had insisted on waiving the signature requirement? The drivers don't know what's in the box but they do know that it's sufficiently important to require a signature. It wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility that an unscrupulous driver might decide to "deliver" the parcel to a colleague who "signed" for it. Or alternatively, they could mistakenly deliver to the wrong address and some random person would become the lucky recipient of "free stuff."

So for now at least, it's still a flawed system but a necessary inconvenience.

I should subscribe to the 24 hour cooling off period, but I am pissed! I ordered a scope from EuroOptic on May 22, 2026, and delivery was attempted yesterday. I paid the premium ($20.25 for shipping protection) as suggested. I was not here for delivery yesterday, but notification from UPS states delivery will be attempted on the next delivery day (obviously today). In short, a delivery from a May 22, 2026 order isn't (attempted to be) delivered until May 28, and then as nobody was here to accept delivery, I sat here in my office ALL DAY staring out the window to make sure I did not miss delivery. Here it is 6:00 CST so I called UPS to see when the driver would arrive and was told that the seller "requested return" due to "service interruption"!

I purchase a lot of glass and dare say I have likely bought $10K in glass over the last year or so from EuroOptic (in fairness, some I attribute to EuroOptic may have actually been from Optics Planet), but suffice it to say I purchase a lot from EuroOptic. They have been my go to since a transition from Doug at CameraLandNY over the last several years, but this is truly ridiculous. I pulled a Kahles off one of my Johannsen's for service and promised a friend I would have another scope on it for our "Block headed German hog hunt" tomorrow evening/Sunday am. Well, looks like that won't happen.

I post this for therapeutic purposes, but also as a what in the world question. Has anyone had a similar situation where delivery was attempted one time and then return was immediately requested from EuroOptic? If this is the case, I am flat out done from ordering from them. I need a Snickers, admittedly, but this is nonsense.
Just me I never order anything asking for a signature except for a rifle shipped to me…not scopes, ammo etc. Just too much of a pain waiting just not worth it to me…knock on wood I have never had anything stolen doing this, just me

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
