I should subscribe to the 24 hour cooling off period, but I am pissed! I ordered a scope from EuroOptic on May 22, 2026, and delivery was attempted yesterday. I paid the premium ($20.25 for shipping protection) as suggested. I was not here for delivery yesterday, but notification from UPS states delivery will be attempted on the next delivery day (obviously today). In short, a delivery from a May 22, 2026 order isn't (attempted to be) delivered until May 28, and then as nobody was here to accept delivery, I sat here in my office ALL DAY staring out the window to make sure I did not miss delivery. Here it is 6:00 CST so I called UPS to see when the driver would arrive and was told that the seller "requested return" due to "service interruption"!

I purchase a lot of glass and dare say I have likely bought $10K in glass over the last year or so from EuroOptic (in fairness, some I attribute to EuroOptic may have actually been from Optics Planet), but suffice it to say I purchase a lot from EuroOptic. They have been my go to since a transition from Doug at CameraLandNY over the last several years, but this is truly ridiculous. I pulled a Kahles off one of my Johannsen's for service and promised a friend I would have another scope on it for our "Block headed German hog hunt" tomorrow evening/Sunday am. Well, looks like that won't happen.

I post this for therapeutic purposes, but also as a what in the world question. Has anyone had a similar situation where delivery was attempted one time and then return was immediately requested from EuroOptic? If this is the case, I am flat out done from ordering from them. I need a Snickers, admittedly, but this is nonsense.

After my first order form them I started asking them to not require a signature. They said the risk is mine if lost but I’m in a good neighborhood and have never had a problem. Signature required is always a pain for me.

There’s a EuroOptic rep on here, maybe reach out to him
I did before I posted. I gave him 30 minutes or so, but they likely shut down for the weekend since on EST. I may be overblowing the situation due to blowing off two meetings today to make sure I was here for delivery, but I am pissed (technical legal term). It takes a lot to get me pissed, but when I promise someone something for a hunt at my ranch, I get pissed when a vendor doesn't come through.

I hope you called them before posting this. I have however been frustrated once before. They’ll attempt to deliver twice before returning to EuroOptic because signature required. I missed both delivery attempts but thankfully had a UPS contact and was able to pick it up. I understand their reasoning with a high value item, but the next time I order I’m going to call to see if I can avoid requiring a signature on delivery. Things don’t get stolen where I live.

I get it. Likely done with them. I go Josey Wales in a hurry and live by the feud. I live in a fur-lined underwear gated community without porch pirates, but if they request signature I have always paid the extra $20 or so.

I did call UPS at 6:00 pm today. They said the seller requested return at 5:36 am today! I sat around all day waiting for delivery consistent with the notice UPS left yesterday saying delivery would be attempted again today! The frustrating part is after one attempted delivery yesterday, EuroOptic requested no additional delivery attempts and the scope to be returned.

I highly doubt EuroOptic called UPS at 5:36 am. It was likely default setting after a failed delivery. UPS may have incorrectly marked it in their system as 2 failed deliveries also. The signature and return is there to protect you. You should have called EuroOptic before making a public post. I’d be frustrated but I think this thread is what is nonsense.

I spoke to the UPS representative. They gave me the time reference. That is all I have to go by. Edit: just looked at the notes in the UPS system. Delivery was attempted at 11:26 am yesterday. At 5:39 am today (not 5:36 as referenced in my call with UPS), there is a note that "package will be returned to sender."

My wifey had a LV bag "re routed" yesterday. Rivers ran red... I wasn't happy about it either. Not only was my tranquility shattered like a glass at a Jewish wedding, but I could have bought a killer new rifle for what that sack costs! (Don't act like y'all don't know! I know there are some Louis's lurking around your castle's!)

Consider yourself fortunate. Wait until she steps up to the Hermes/Birkin. :-). Noted. I should have taken a 24 hour cooling off period. Just going by what UPS told me as EuroOptic is not available. UPS told me the "seller" requested return after one delivery attempt. I don't know how that could be inaccurate, but that is what I was told by UPS. Carry on. Good day to all.

I buy directly from Eurooptic, I do not have very much success trying to contact the AH “rep” on this forum. I find their deliveries very quick and without problems, but I was having them delivered to my office. I have an agreement with my UPS delivery guy, leave it!

Sorry for the frustrations...what caught my eye was the expedited shipping timeline. I paid extra for express shipping on a RMR and some other small items late last fall before a spur of the moment Zimbabwe hunt. Knowing it was a short timeline, I paid heavily for express shipping. It took almost 2-weeks and arrived just before I left and had already purchased a replacement. Being in Alaska makes things more difficult at times, and overnight is 2-days and 2nd-day air is really 3, but priority mail is 3-5 days and comes by air. Its hard to make something take 12 days unless its sent slow regular mail which goes into a barge in Seattle.

Still like Europotic, but was hot for a bit and that I paid something like $48 for slow, slow, lame shipping.

I’m not afraid to admit there are a few here in this house, LV and those damn Fendi bags run me ragged

Fedex failed me with a delivery from Keltec which required me to be here. Sat in the living room waiting for them to knock and they crept up like a ninja and put a note on the door. BTW my dog has bionic hearing and never heard him come up. Driver was a real POS. I confronted him in the neighborhood after tracking down the truck. Might be more of a UPS problem.

I’m very sorry you didn’t get your delivery, I will make a suggestion to sign up for for the shop app , UPS , USPS delivery notification services!
I get lots of packages both coming and going, and can confirm tracking 24/7 on guns, ammunition, jewelry, electronics & Amazon junk

I haven't ordered from EuroOptics. Here are a few suggestions that might work for you so that a signature "opportunity" is not missed. I have used these methods; the Post Office (if you have a P.O Box) method may or may not be on a national level. It could just be in my community, but it is worth asking your Post Office.

1) Instead of using my home address on an order shipped with Fed Ex or UPS, I can use the building street address of my Post Office. I add a line in the address for "#xxxxx" which is my Post Office box. UPS and FedEx deliver to the street address of the Post Office building (and they have signed for packages) and put the notice of delivery into my Post Office box. Then I pick up the package when I see it has been delivered.

2) You might be able to use a nearby UPS store address under your name for delivery and "hold for pick-up." When the package is ready at your local UPS store, sign for it there and pick it up. It is UPS to UPS. I have also used this method with FedEx when a luxury house item looked like it was returned for lack of delivery signature (not sure where they attempted to deliver it, as I was here all day, fresh snow, no tracks, and security cameras did not pick up a delivery.) But in this case, I was able to reach the company and they were kind enough to turn the shipment around, this time to a FedEx store/copy center here, and the store called me when the package arrived. Signed there and picked it up. But you should be able to have a package shipped via FedEx held at the local FedEx receiving center (ours is at our airport); they will call you for pick up. The package must be marked to be held for pickup and have your phone number in the information.

Again, check with your local post office, UPS center and FedEx center if you can use these methods where you live.

I have never had anything stolen off my porch, but twice packages went missing in the UPS system. One was a some Varget powder and the other was a scope. Two other times nice hunting knives were marked as delivered. I called UPS and they said wait one more day. Amazingly it was delivered the next day. So as big of a pain in the ass as signature required is, which is a big one, they are protecting you and themselves. Here, if I miss signing twice, they hold it at a local UPS drop off store.

EuroOptic is my go to shop for twenty years. Absolutely outstanding service.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
