The .375 will be my Leopard Rifle, at least for the first one.
I really want to complete the Dangerous 7 and Tiny 10 using a single rifle and am almost done.
The 375 is the perfect rifle for this endeavor! I have always owned a 375 H&H or two over the years, yet I’ve never taken one to Africa which is almost sacrilegious. I’ve either paired a 300 mag and 416 of some type or just a 416 or 458 as single rifle for Africa. Some day I will rectify this but the newly acquired Heym 416 Rigby is getting the nod for buff this year.

.

Yes or no ? Oh what the hell .....

1/ Krieghoff .470 NE open sights
2/ another Krieghoff .470 NE open sights
3/ Beesley 450/400 3 1/4 inch open sights
4/ CZ 550 Magnun .416 Rigby Zeiss Conquest scope
5/ Krieghoff .375 H&H double Zeiss glass
6/ CZ 550 in .375 H&H with Leupold glass
7/ 9,3x74 Belgium double open sights

Am seriously looking at the Rigby .404 Jeffrey & will likely make it number 8 in the not too distant future!

.
Two Krieghoff 470 doubles? A spare? I cannot imagine one breaking. A Rigby rifle in 404J would be very classy and while most may prefer a 416 Rigby I cannot fault you, it’s what I would possible choose. Wonderful collection!

Interesting double rifle. Who built it? Any pics?

A fellow named Ron Vella in Ontario Canada. He made a few mostly for himself. Very strong action and he hunted Africa once or twice with it. Has a scope and he shot some pretty impressive PG at distances with it.

You Aussies seem to like your 404 Jeffery’s. You have all your bases covered but inquiring minds want to know what kind of rifles? CZ, Brno?
Mauser actions, 404 and 8x68 on converted military actions, 458 on an Interarms (zastava) action
Gumpy

Edit to add, I’ve also got a 280 nitro express (280 Ross) also on a Mauser action that is a reloading work in progress

Thanks, very nice. I have read of a few North American gunsmiths who have used some very strong shotguns actions to build doubles up to 450 Nitro Express and yours in the 450 NE #2.

My trusty John Rigby BGR in 416, Ryan Breeding 505 Gibbs, then my loved Heym 89b Grossbox in 450NE, and also a 89b in 450/400, 88b in 375 Flanged Mag, and Westley Richards 450/400.

And my near-dream 500NE, another 89b with case colors and extended top tang should be exporting from Germany this month (likely just late to accompany on my April Zimbabwe trip) with its companion, an 89b in 470, both on Grossbox frames. The 470 will likely move along to another loving home, I just couldn’t leave it behind, seemed importing one, might as well do two.

Wonderful collection, you have everything covered and you are officially the only one I know taking a Remington 7600 to Africa for leopard and hyena no less!

I have a soft spot for the Remington 760/7600 having used a 760 30-06 for many hunting seasons. Look forward to your hunt report.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
