Small planes game!
Hello all im looking for a cull in early jan 26 to mid jan 26! Will be based in Kenya but can travel to any place there is! My budget is 3500€ max and if that high a 6+ days and 8+ game! Mostly looking for cull or hunts that can streach my range limits! 400-700meters!!

Anybody offering a cull or a limited managemeant hunt for atleast a 5 day hunt in january of 2026! Budget is max 3400$ hunted in SA 2016 and fell in love! Rifle and shotgun ( winged) hunts welcome :)

Eastern and Northern Cape provinces RSA will work for that type of hunt but unless you're a known, experienced LR shooter, I'm not sure any outfitter will start out an unknown on those distances.
Edit: Be advised the wind BLOWS in both of those areas.

You want to stretch your range? 400-700 m.
So your are wanting to long range target shoot with live targets?

That sucks.

700m....IMO you're dreaming....400m will most likely be your max range on a single/ an alone animal....250m max maybe on an animal within a herd.

PHs like to keep working as PHs thereby they follow ethical hunting standards and respective country's laws when it comes to hunting, and they like being able to have concessions / properties to hunt.....especially for their own subsistence.

€3500....6+ days....[8+ animals: culls....maybe nermon like baboons and jackal definately doable at your max budget]....[trophy animals....1 to 5 or 6.......depending on species].

Most outfitters will be overseas doing all the different safari conventions in January and February.

We will be able to accommodate you with impala and warthogs and blesbucks.
To keep all expenses on your budget I can do the following :
Accommodations : $375 / night x 5 nights = $1 875
15 % Value Added Tax. + $ 281
5 Impala or blesbuck (Male or female). + $ 500
5 Warthogs (Male or female) + $ 500
Airport pickup and drop off Jhb (Roundtrip). + $250 / person

Total $3 406.

Birdhunting (Sandgrouse, dove, francolin, guinea fowl, etc.) available at $150 / day extra.

Sincerely
Hans de Klerk

The wind blows more in Iceland than anyplace I have ever been except Wyoming.

Icelanders are also eaters of the wind.

This coming from a Wyoming native, me.

Dear @iceman69 we can definitely assist with a hunt like this and have the perfect setting for these planned long shots that you have in mind the Karoo a vast open landscape that is known for long shots and ideal area for cull hunting.
Ill send you a dm sir.

That sucks.
I constantly shoot to longer ranges than that! Shoot sitting geese out to 600m regularly reindeer at 700+ so not experimenting on anything! But thing is ive done research and not many in Africa allow LR hunting, thats why i have this post on here! So why not ask FIRST then judge?

No hunting forum is immune from the holier than thou ethics police.

Don't jump to judgement about Iceman69 and his long range hunting/shooting.
I think he knows what he is doing. Iceland has some wide open country. If he says he can do it, I believe him.

Those long range marksmen with their purpose built rigs and premium bullets can hit small targets at half a click all day long.

I would not be surprised if iceman has a better one shot kill ratio on medium game at 500 meters than most cape buffalo hunters have at 50 meters.

Judging other hunters hunting style and capability on hunting forum is seldom a good thing.

I have talked to a number of seasoned dangerous game PH,s about how common it is for them to guide poor shots on cape buffalo hunts. Several Africa PH's have told me clearly that "half of the North American cape buffalo hunting clients cannot hit the shoulder of cape buffalo standing broadside. at 50 yards."
I just watched another top quality, high definition video of the North American hunters each wounding their cape buffalo at close range and losing it. Yes, 50 yard shot and hitting the buffalo in the guts with a 375HH rifles is weird but not uncommon. ( The Heart lung kill zone of a cape buffalo is about the size of a volley ball ! )

Simply that’s long range target shooting.
With live targets. It’s not hunting.

There been post on here talking about limits by law on scope power to stop this long range target with live game bs.

I don’t want to see the government’s involvement in it.
I think it’s best for hunters to call out the long range target shooting of live game.

Don’t need to ask.

No not at all.
There been many post on this fourm
That have even included getting the government to make rules on long range live target shooting. Including limited the power on scopes.

I fell it’s better to tell other hunters ( target shooters) what you think about it.
Vs trying to make the government get involved.

I said it sucks and to me it does.
But I in no way would try and get the government to put limits on range and or equipment.

There a big difference in that. Or at least it is to me.

Looks like it! Sounds like he tried a long shot and failed, so no he pisses on others because he cant perform at range ;)
Nope not at all.
I have not done long range work in years. And your kinda right I could not do it now.
Because I simply don’t want to and have stopped practicing past 400yds now.

And even when I was shooting long range it was not for game animals.
It was CERT and they don’t shoot that much long range but it’s still in there classes.
Animals deserve more respect than that.

Not judging his skill.
He may be able to do the shot.
Don’t care that’s target shooting at that range. Not hunting to me.

Geese to 600m and reindeer to 700+
How long does it take your bullet to get there?
How long does it take for the animals to move?
What happens at 700+ when they take 2 steps ? Where does that bullet go now?
Gut? Lower jaw?
Ham?

Can you find a blood trail every time from 700m away?

The best shot in the world can make mistakes now add in time to target and movement.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
