Crazy! Cow Elephant charge!

Hindsight is always 20/20. They made the decisions they did for whatever reasons and were fortunate to not be injured or worse.

The lion was absolutely amazing. Very impressive. Anyone have an idea of how old it was?

Great video, especially a really great lion, old as a stone.
The first shot on the Ele cow would have been far too oblique for me, pointed from behind into the brain, didn't work either.
But all's well that ends well

For me, that’s what makes them exciting to hunt. And why it’s a heavy responsibility to be prepared.

And also to be walking next to a PH that can save your life if need be.

On the first cow. It was Buzz’ second shot that put her down. And on the second cow Buzz didn’t wait and dropped the second cow. No time for discussion.

I wouldn't second guess any of what Buzz did. He obviously wanted to drop the first cow quickly instead of a heart shot running around. Probably there were other cows by the way he backed them off...and then obviously there was the 2nd one. It's the ones that come in silent that can really make it dangerous. She charged from way back. That wasn't a mock charge either. Buzz has a LOT of experience with this. I say well done.

I just watched that last night! I would never second guess Buzz. It can happen anytime. Those cows are crazy and smart at the same time.

What impressed me was how close the two bullet holes were. Presumably one was from Buzz’s .500 and the second from David Manns .458 Lott. Not sure where the clients shot went!

Love that old lion with a permanent underbite snarl and what appears to be a tumor/scar tissue on his spine. Job well done.
Impressive work on the elephants as well-not only the shooters but the camera man to be commended!

It looked like the first cow turned her head just before the first shot.
Great old lion.
I would never second guess Buzz, they obviously backed away for a bit but not long enough. I think I heard them say she was making some noise and they probably wanted to put her out of her misery.

Good call out on the camera work...not easily done! Ice water in the veins.

There's nothing as terrifying as an old, toothless woman in Walmart pissed off because they're out of filterless Camels - except a tuskless cow elephant!

Man what an adrenaline rush that must have been for all involved. My experience is that the camera slows things down a lot, and in real life it feels much faster. You have to OODA loop and act very quickly. I'd say they did pretty dang good.

OODA loop is right on the money. Observation...orientation...decision...action...do it quickly or reap the consequences. It seems slow in real time but it's cracking like a whip!
