Courteney Boot Treads

Tire tread for hunting boots. They work in the NA also when it is above 30 degrees (in the morning and warmer in the day). They are great for antelope hunting.
They are not good for snow.

Ripple sole for the vellies.

I have the Safaris with cleat sole. Love them. Performed perfect in Tanzania and now wear them as everyday boots to work mostly on concrete floors all day.

I have several pair. Both tire and ripple. I wear ripple everyday, have hunted in both ripple and tire. I prefer the tire tread in the more rocky mountainous areas when I hunt. The ripple was perfect when we went to the sandy Kalahari. I usually wear my ripples for travel and carry the tire treads. All are in the safari models.

I have two pairs of Selous boots. One with ripple and one with the tire sole. As a PH I put good miles on both.

Honestly I like the ripple much more, but it is slippery. In certain terrain you'll be disadvantaged with them, but for hunting normal flat Limpopo bushveld they are just amazing. I've worn them through now, need to send them back after the hunting season for new soles and a refurb.

The tire sole is good as well, I have no complaints. They pick up quite a lot of dirt, gravel and cow dung but they perform well for the intended use.

One more question ....
Anyone wearing the Courteney Wide last??
I wear an American size 10 4E, wondering if their wide will be wide enough??
Thanks

Which retailer can you recommend in Europe?
Safarisupplies in Belgium has only a limited model range and sizes available…

Both the Rigby and Westley Richards websites stock them (although at different prices).

In South Africa, Safari & Outdoor stock them. It will almost certainly be the cheapest option to buy them there, but I suggest that you check stock availability beforehand.

Try Varuste.net . I hope I got that website address correct. They have a good offering . But if you are going to Namibia in the near future I recommend Swakopmund Vellies. Well made boots in either a vellies style with a ripple sole or a taller boot ( over the ankle) with a tyre tread style sole.
Compared to the price of Courteney boots you’ll be able to buy several pairs, have dinner, a few drinks and take a limo home.

I got a pair with the tire tread from a member here and they have been excellent so far. Really enjoying the roomy toe-box. I got a chance to break them in a bit more at the Oregon coast. They don't seem to need much breaking in but I don't like to hunt a boot that I have not put several days and at least 20 miles on.
