Does anyone here have chess piece sable mount ?
They are always done as floor pedestals .
I am interested in seeing your mount and knowing if you like it. I have never seen one in person but I think they are really cool looking! Thank you for sharing yours!

I felt the same way and combined a zebra chess piece mount with the sable. I wouldn't change anything.

I think the chess piece mounts do look good but looking at sable/roan reference pictures I have never seen a live animal with that posture, they may be out there but I just haven’t seen them. I’m a stickler for anatomically correct taxidermy. That’s just my opinion. I sort of hope that they are out there because they are starting to grow on me.

Not quite a chess piece type but I just finished this piece a week or two ago.

Hunt anything , you have exactly landed on why I asked in original post if the owner liked their chess piece mount. I think they look great on a floor pedestal . Not sure they look “real” . I have until next august to make my decision

Extreme arched neck pose seems stressed or unnatural to me. The regular pedestal mount with natural pose is one thing and looks ok. The “knight” chess piece pose is something else. Reminds me of the Prancing Pony Inn sign in the village of Bree outside the Shire in Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings :)

Stylized taxidermy mounts aren’t my thing. IMO, that type stylization is best left to artistic interpretations like the pre-historic cave paintings in Europe or the Nazca images in Peru or the rock art of the SW or the white chalk horse of Uffington- pic below :) etc.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

X5i scope is perfect - thanks for an easy transaction! Buy with confidence.
Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
