CANADA: Moose X 2017

My annual moose hunt to Northern British Columbia , Canada, about 500 km north of Mackenzie BC.
Chased grizz, caribou, and goats but this was all we brought home. 300g Nosler Partition , from a 375 H&H. chip shot at 170 yards.

Congratulations! That should fill the freezer. Did you pack it out by boat? Or did you have a more difficult job going over land?

By Boat, bought a new welded aluminum last year, made the process very "gentlemanly" lol. Last year it took four days to back my animal out, trying to get wiser.

Congratulations on a very good trophie.......Moose always take my attention, such big animal plus the hunt take a place in the most beatifull scenerys.....

Hi All since there is some interest. It dropped to about -12C the next day.

So were you hunting with a group?

There were three of us, one first time moose hunter, he fired the first shot with a 308; then a 375 to make sure he did wander off in the bush too far. We credit the New Hunter with the Moose.

Hunting smarter is always good, especially where moose are concerned. Even one with a short pack out can take considerable time. This one looks like a piece of cake on the lake shore. Gotta be prepared to take one apart if your gonna pack them. Big critters. Congrats.
