What are some dreams you have?

For me, to visit the Masters, hunt a proper safari in open country for an old worn dagga boy, Elephant bull and Livingstone Eland somewhere in Moz/Zambesi Delta and see either Everest base camp or probably K2 base camp.

1) Take my wife and youngest son and his wife and our new grandson to Zimbabwe in ‘28. Hunt two elephants and a sable, then ferry across the lake and spend two days at the falls.

2) hunt Persian Ibex in ‘30 after we’re finished with our current business

3) spoil my grandchildren when they come to stay with us and return them to mom and dad Sunday morning loaded to the gills with pancakes and maple syrup.

Quit work and hunt every big game species on the planet.

Hunting related...

Brown bear with a bow
Cape buffalo bull with a lever action
Other DG with a lever action
Mountain goat with a lever action
N.A. species like mule deer, elk, muskox

Probably there is more? But that comes to mind...

Get out of bed tomorrow!
Hunting wise it would have to be a full bag of Ugandan game and the same in Zambia.
Sitka blacktail deer and a king eider are in there sloshing around as well.

CAN'T BEAT #1 @ #3.

Hunting Related:
1. Get my buffalo next weekend (Or maybe a couple of days later.)
2. Sika stag in Ireland.
3. Finish my spiral slam with an eland and bushbuck.
4. Finish my four bird turkey slam.
5. Fallow and trout in New Zealand.(They also have Merriams' turkeys over there. Could be a triple bag!)

10 foot coastal brown bear in Alaska
Desert Big Horn Sheep 70-80 inch
Leopard in Mozambique with my son, possibly happening in 27
Watch my son catch a double digit bass in Lake Okeechobee in South Florida

Take 6-7mo off and hike the Pacific Crest Trail.

Spend a season in Zim or somewhere working as a camp manager or some kind of appy pee-on, just to enjoy an extended period of time in the bush and away from the hustle and bustle of regular work life...I don't think I will ever actually retire, but love the idea of a sabbatical or taking chunks of the year off at some age.

Complete my FNAWS Grand Slam, still need rocky mountain bighorn and stone sheep.

Another sheep hunting goal, complete what we call the Alaskan slam which is taking a ram from each of the Alaskan mountain ranges. I have the Wrangells, Chugach, and Alaska ranges completed, so still a few to go.

To be able to take my wife and kids to Africa to hunt one day. I want to hunt just about everything in Africa, but one dream hunt would be to hunt a lion by tracking it. Not the captive bred lions in South Africa. (I don't have a problem with that kind of hunting but not what I want to do). I would also like to hunt as many cape buffalo with a double rifle as I can.

I am trying to convince the beautiful Mrs. Rare Breed to go to Bora Bora with me and stay at a 5 star resort with a set of rooms with entire glass floors that look over a covered volcano lagoon that is completely safe yet a once in a lifetime experience...I figure that will get her off any complaints of any of my Africa trips LMAO!!! (serious though)

With your youth still in place I am sure you will be able to work through quite a bit of your list.
Our world has so much great things to do and actually we have so little time on this blue planet most of my bucket list consist of hunting and travelling to other countries. But it would be neat to get to travel and hunt and the same time combining tourist stuff with hunting with my wife. I can Imagine Turkey and IBEX, Romania, Bulgaria, Sweden, Germany and even Russia.

No.1 on my bucket list is to hunt a large bodied elephant bull with thick tusks.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
