These are all variables that are subject to change seasonally and by specific destinations within the country itself..

I would recommend reaching out to some of the fine AH.com sponsors here who offer archery buff/leopard hunts in Zim and get their direct up to date input... Best of luck if you do it.. A leopard with a bow is arguably the hardest goal to achieve in pursuing any of the Big 5..!

What I know so far is this.

1st you need a TRS2 form with your hunt details. For example, dates, outfitter, guide and area.

A special archery license.

I understand you need a special lic for Leopard and Buffalo when hunting with a bow. I get a little fuzzy at this point.

Is it a separate permit? Or is the animal just listed on the archery lic? Is there additional lic cost for just that additional animals?

IIRC $1500 license for DG is the only thing extra I believe for a bow. Everything else was SOP as with rifles, but I've slept and drank since then.

I am sure if it is legal where you are going your PH will sort it all out for you. Please be aware of how truly dangerous, dangerous game hunting really is.

I have answered most of these questions in the past. Many things change on a day to day basis. If someone will put together a proper list of questions. I will contact the man that actually approves, issues and signs. The permit or special permit.

The answers I receive will give a strong indication for the 2023 season only. Contact your prefers Safari co. before booking a hunt. “Things change”.

Dave can you post a link to your mentioned section of rules?

Well, I’m happy for Tom Miranda but honestly a little furstrated about his 2023 Zimbabwe Elephant bow hunt. I’m not upset with him one you but with Zimbabwe Parks.

My outfitter and PH during 2022 and 2023 tried on multiple occasions to obtain an elephant bow permit. They went into the Zimbabwe main office and spoke to multiple staff in charge of issuing permits and each time were given the same answer. “We don’t issue bow permits for elephants for any reason.” I even spoke with other outfitters hoping they had a different contact. I was given the same answer they don’t issue bow permits. I even reached out to the Zimbabwe PH guide association with the same results. So, to hear that Zimbabwe Parks decide to issue a bow permit after telling us no so many times is very frustrating. My one hope is now the Parks can’t say they don’t issue bow permits!!!!!!

In Africa, for the right person, with the right influence, you can get a permit for about anything.

For the average Joe, you're not getting a Zimbabwe bow elephant license. This may not be the case if you own a gold or diamond mine, or if you provide private militias to the ruling government.

George Hallamore was PH. “H.H.K safaris” They hunted in the Omay.

This is all I could find from watching Tom Miranda’s video. They mention this in the opening few seconds.

I went back and it doesn’t say the year of the hunt but it was in Fall 2023 pope and young magazine

I just watched the video and it doesn’t state the year of the hunt. He did bury the arrow past the nick which was impressive.

Does anyone have the contact information for the George Hallamore?

I know George & his father does hunts for us. I will say this the Halimore's clive, george & Lou are great PHs & square shooters. I will be talking to Lou & try and get some info.

Zimbabwe has strict laws & penalties, that said this is. Africa enough said. Kind of like Nancy Pelosi.

I received a message from Lou Hallimore he is a.long time well known Zimbabwe PH
He stated to me that the hunt took place about 10yrs ago

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
