AUSTRALIA: Sambar-Australia-Errol Mason- Secrets Of The Sambar

@Bob Nelson Whelan
Yes, the 444 is a great choice for bush hunting Sambar as well where most of your shots are under 100m.
@cperso
I don't know why people say the 444 marlin is good for under 100yds.
One sambar I shot was at 170 yds and he was dead with one shot to the chest with a 265gn FTX.
My 444 was built in an SMLE No4 action and those 265s were travelling at just over 2,500 fps.
It was an awesome weapon and I shot pigs with it at over 200yds when needed.

I for one am not saying the 444 is only good for 100yds,just saying most shots under our bush conditions stalking Sambar are under 100yds.

Fringe hunting can stech the range out a bit depending on the size of the paddock but usually nothing over 200. More likely 75 to 150 and in open paddocks. That's why I love fringe hunting.
Stay just inside the tree line for camoflauge plus you never know when you will stumble in one just inside the bush line.
Unfortunately my body is falling apart to quickly so fringe hunting suits me just fine. Nowadays anything steeper than a level surface is hard going
Look after your body when younger. A lifelong if hard physical work can wreak havoc later in life and it just doesn't creep up on you. It hits you hard but life goes on and I adapt my hunts to my needs.

Wait until you get honked for the first time. Sounds like a Mack truck coming for you but a great feeling.
When Ted Mitchell got honked the first time he said it scared the shit out of him.

This one is doing the rounds on the Facebook atm.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
