Anti-Hunter Attack

First, the beating of another human for simply protecting their own property is maddening.
But I also have to remind myself I look at things from a uniquely American perspective, where self defense and protecting your property is encouraged. Around here those perpetrators probably would just be missing. Prayers for his recovery and a change of attitude towards legal hunting.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Europeans, along with Canadians and Australians have been so indoctrinated against the idea of self defence that they just can't do it. I see the same thing here in large cities where only the criminals are armed. I don't think, however, that most anti-hunters would try to physically attack an armed.hunter. Good way to get shot.

I’m willing to bet there are more fist fights on the wharf I fish from in the run of a year than your local pub/bar. Don’t let the liberal media of Canada fool you there are still Canadians who can and will defend themselves there just not in Toronto or Montreal so it doesn’t make the news.

That's an ill-informed over generalization.

We are quite within our rights to defend ourselves within the law and many Canadian citizens do so daily. (Cross the border and test your theory at your peril.)

For your edification.

This poor unfortunate Belgian man was disabled (dislocated shoulder) and was unable to protect himself from the sociopath that continued to attack him after he was down.
Have you had a bad camera experience?

They're called "activists". The crimes that they have been committing world wide are called "protest's" and "demonstrations".
They are nothing but terrorists and in some cases, killers.
And they ALL should be treated as such.

I'll stand down from my soapbox now.

One knee, two knee, one arm, two arm, etc.

Why do you think he was unarmed? He was hunting. Shooting someone even in self defense will get you arrested in Europe, Australia and probably Canada.
Yup, I'm a little bit north of Belgium. We encounter this a lot. A lot of aggression.

You'll lose your license and they confiscate your guns just for the perception of a threat. Hunting is not a right the same as owning guns. It is a privilege and they make sure you understand you can lose it instantly.

We have yearly renewals and each year they sit you down with the police for a interview. If you did something wrong even if it is not breaking the law. For instance getting in a rowdy discussion with somewhen when hunting you can already lose everything. They expect nothing of the best behavior.

This means that every hunter will try to avoid any situation that can lead to a conflict. In this situation the hunter was in a bad spot. Get a beating or try to fight back and losing everything. If he used or only pointed his gun he is probably in a bad situation of losing everything.

I would definitely use a weapon. First, such people are dangerous for the environment. They can hurt not only the hunter, what if I took my daughter with me to take food to the hunting grounds. Although the law in the country where I live is rigorous and I would certainly end up in prison, I would defend myself with a firearm without thinking. This does not mean that I would kill the attacker, but I certainly would not allow him to hurt my family and me. I would like to see that judge who would interpret my act of self-defense as vandalism and acquit the attackers

The force escalation here in Europe, to the point where you would be able to use a firearm against someone to protect yourself is sky high.

A knife attacker can really only be thwarted by a knife or a cricket bat, unless you are a police officer. Luckily police offers have more freedom.

All I can say is this is insane. I won’t live anywhere ever in my life where this is the logic. Thank God in the USA we have the “castle doctrine and stand you ground” laws. What happened to the Belgium man should never happen in a civilized society. Just because you don’t agree with someone that is actively pursuing a legal activity doesn’t give anyone the right to harm another person. Fact is these left wing whacko doodles have placed just enough doubt in a lot of people minds about this god given right to defend yourself.because they don’t have any fundamental value system…have faith and belief in nothing, be affable to anything. Add to that the reality that taking a human life is something some people just can’t do. I feel for and pray for this guy…that’s going to be hard to come back from

Prayers for a quick recovery.

Things like this should not happen or be tolerated. Unfortunately the world is very divided on many things. The ones that say they are about peace and love etc are usually the first to raise a violent hand. Be in fanatic activism or just plain old uneducated.

Thug, bullies, and low lifes should be dealt with. no need to use a firearm. there are many ways to defend yourself.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
