If you climbed higher this is what you got.

Whoa! Those top photos look like Tucson during our summer monsoon. We got pounded with rain last night.

Are these pics from now, July, 2016?

You may need X-country skis or snow shoes to hunt that bushbuck!

Reminds me of my farming days, when you ask for rain and you get A LOT more than you asked for. You wonder why it couldn't be spread out more?

Wonder why I rent a 4x4 when I drive myself through those mountains!

Even part's of the drought stricken Eastern Cape received rain, to the detriment of the embattled hungry kudu, cold rain and wind aren't a good mix.

I hate seeing the effects of the drought to this extent !!

Always feast or famine in seems. But you've got to have water...

Well I hope my hunt goes well in 25 days. I have been working so hard this year, I need a good trip.

Hungry then a cold snap. Not a good combination for the wildlife.
I hope that a few are hiding in the thick stuff and can find some grass that should be sprouting soon.

Fortunately the spekboom will start to swell soon

Holy cow that snow! Looks like Montana in the winter. Does anyone know how to drive in snow down there even? Whenever I see pix like these I know someone will blame it on global warming, no matter how silly it is. Mind you I am not saying the earth doesn't warm and cool in cycles, it does now just like it always has. Just the idea that somehow the US is responsible for it bugs me. No one else really cares.

The people that live up high tend to know how to drive in it.
Anyone else, waits until it melts.

They get snow every year, just not so much at once.

Limpopo has been getting hit too. Jacques just finished up an ego hang hunt there that was very tough. The rain had the ele's scattered as they suddenly had all sorts of water. Fortunately a nice bull was taken on the last day.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
