Ammo case

This case is not advisable for checking separate. The latches can easily be flipped unintentionally as it gets shoved around in the belly of the plane and the only lock is the proprietary one. If the key is lost there is a big problem. Sure it can work but there are better and safer options.

The ammo case shown has travelled more than once as separate luggage on various airlines and I use a gun case with the same lock for 40 years. I have also never had any problems with it.

@Maskell Shotgun academy one piece of advice that isn’t mentioned here is pay the rifle fee for both legs when you leave Johannesburg and save the receipt. I’m assuming you are flying airlink? Paying for both legs in Johannesburg saves time but also frustration when they can’t accept a credit card in Harare for return flight.
good to know

I've used the same MTM plastic case with TSA luggage lock on all my hunting trips throughout Europe and Africa.

without getting t deep into a lengthy chat, I have travelled the world competing since the mid 80's and its my experience since 9/11that using TSA locks is not a good choice, I prefer to know when someone needs to get into my rifle, shotgun or ammo case,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?
