Rockin G and Top of Texas Taxidermy had a great evening at the DSC dinner last night. I couldn’t believe how cheap the hunts went at the auction, most went for about 1/4 of the value.

Thanks for posting Erik!

Way to go @Carrie that is awesome!

A 338 Lapua mounted on the back porch could have taken some hogs in the west field we saw all lined up!
I’ll bet Carrie has something in mind with her new toy?

Yes, it was a great night all the way around. Very excited for Carrie’s big win! After the Rockin G booth erupted into cheers when the winning ticket was announced, seeing some of the surprised looks and groans when folks realized who won was hilarious! Little do they know, Carrie can run a rifle like a champ! Given her new extended range capabilities with the Lupua, I guess I better rethink how much I tease and play jokes on her!! But in all seriousness, the banquet was well organized and well run and I hope it continues to grow. Like Gizmo said, hunts that were auctioned went extremely low, might be worth the trip to the show next year for some of you.

What were the hunts? And what where the sale prices?

And how many of them did you win? :)

A coastal brown bear went for like 12, the rest were deer hunts, hog hunts, and bird hunts. Most went for only a couple hundred bucks.

Zero! I could have the only ticket in the bucket and still loose. I’ve got crap for luck.

That does sound like stuff went cheap! Lubbock has theirs in early March. Last time I went (2 years ago) most everything was over $1k. I’m excited to go this year and see what everything goes for. I’m saving for Buff with my Dad and Son (PG for my son) in 2021 so I won’t be buying anything this year.

A quail hunt would have been great for me! Just hoping my old GSP makes it another season.

Lol!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!! So excited to start playing with my new toy!!!!!!

I see a mouflon that is in great danger!!! Or one of those Nilgai!! Have fun with it

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
