A Heym’s Maiden Voyage to Africa

Got my new Heym 89b 450 3 1/4” all dialed in…which I have to admit was no big task, darn thing shoots most everything better than me. Built on a Gross Box, the extra weight makes it an absolute joy to shoot.

Sitting here on a too-long flight into Doha before heading to Harare. Taking this beauty to Zimbabwe and going to see what kind of shenanigans we might find.

Here is last range session before loading rounds for the trip. Gun really likes the CEB Raptors. Target at 55 yards

Not planning on shooting Buffalo over 100 yards but had to at least see how the Northfork SS impacted, and with little time and loaded ammo, just took two shots at 100. The higher shot is 450gr NFSS and the lower the 500gr NFSS.

And this this was a bit of luck as I wasn’t so consistent at a 100 a couple days before shooting the factory ammo. Shot mixture of the DGS and DGX, all 8 were within 6-7”, but nothing to write home about so no pics. Gave me the info I needed and good enough for clean up work if needed.
