My name is James, just joined a few days ago and thought I would say HOWDY. I'm an Avid Whitetail hunter and trying to get over our Buck Season being over yesterday. I've been to South Africa a couple of times so I'm sure we'll be talking soon. JRH

Welcome to the forum JRH!:bighello:

What provinces did you hunt in South Africa?

Best Regards

Welcome, you will love it here, alot of friendly people with alot of knowledge, Scott

Louis,
I hunted the Northern part of the Limpopo Province both times I was in Africa. My son and I just got back right before the World Cup. We will probably do something different in a couple of years.

Regards
JRH

Hi JRH

I am very happy to hear you took your son along I hope he enjoyed it.

Best Regards

Welcome to AH!

Welcome to AH JRH! The wife and I did a hunt in South Africa "East Cape" same time frame we got to see the different Country's coming in for the World Cup as we were leaving, enjoy the site a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people here.

Thanks for the welcome Bob. We didn't notice alot of the people because we just trying to get out of the country before everyone else got there. Our outfitter told us that the airport would be a madhouse when the soccer fans started arriving in full force. James

Hey Louis,
I know its been a couple of days but I thought I would drop you a line. My son Brett is 29 and my best huntin' buddy. He and my wife both were with me in 2008 and they both had a blast, my wife doesn't hunt but she went for the adventure. Brett and I have been hunting together for 20 years and we are getting pretty competitive. He hunts on our South Texas lease with us and we have a lot of fun.
Thanks for the interest, James

Hey, I decided to try to put up few photos, hope yall enjoy. James

Hi James

Thanks for sharing it seems that you and your son have a good competitive relationship, I always like a bit of that in camp it keeps things interesting LOL.

You took some really nice trophies that bush buck is great!

Best Regards
Louis van Bergen

Hi JRH,
Welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing the photos. I agree, that is one magnificent Bushbuck. A lot of locals go their whole lives hunting in South Africa without ever seeing one like that.
Awesome stuff!

Best Regards
Marius Goosen

Welcome James

You should try Namibia for your next hunt, which will be a different experience to South Africa.

Welcome to AH have fun lots of good people here and a wealth of knowledge!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
