am i seeing norma and federal factory 375 h@h 300gn ammo in the 2400 fps range?
2550 is not a hot load with h4350 (ar2209) by any means, which begs the question, why?
bruce.

The Woodleigh manual lists velocities for 300 grain softs between 2465 fps and 2600 fps for 2209. I used 75.5 grains and never chronographed it. I believe that for hunting big game with conventional bullets I have been best served by moderate velocities.

Back in the day I'd use the 375H&H generally with 270 gr bullets. I forget the loading but it was with H4350 and chronographed 2750, so I'd expect you'd get 2600 or there abouts easily with the 300 grains.

We've used the Remington Premier Safari Grade 375 H&H ammo loaded with Swift 300g A-Frames with great success. Highly recommended

Probably because of the bullets they use. 2600fps might just be to fast for those projectiles to perform reliably. Just guessing.

That’s what I assuming too.

In my testing, Federal 300gr run between 2,478 and 2,489 FPS for their TBBC, Sledgehammer, Nosler Partition and Swift A-Frame. Barnes TSX and Hornady DGS both ran at 2,530 FPS. And Swift’s ammo with the A-Frame was the fastest at 2,553 FPS. These are all out of my MRC.
I haven’t had any Norma to try out.

I'm currently shooting Norma 300gr Oryx and they list at 2560 fps. I don't have a chrono yet though.

It would be nice to see an ammo manufacturer make some 375 H&H ammo with the Woodleigh 350g HD softpoints at around 2300 fps They are really nice bullets

Norma makes 375 H&H with 350g Woodleigh, but not sure about the FPS.

Their website shows a 300HD, a 350HD, PP & FMJ. The Heavy Duty are coloured black and the standard 350SN has been discontinued

Agree, but I think Remington and Swift terminated their deal a few years ago, about the time Swift decided to make ammo and not just bullets. I don't think you can find any Remington Premier Safari Grade with SAF anywhere. I loved this ammo in my 338 WM but now either get it from Swift or Hendershots.

Hendershots offers a huge bullet selection for the 375 H&H https://hendershots.net/product/375-hh-magnum-extreme-custom-ammo/

I have a box of Norma .375H&H with the 350gr Woodleighs.
Please see the data from the box below.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
