Well, the metal work is at least!

My first real custom gun. I've had some plastic stocks put on, done some painting. But this is the first completed action-turned-new rifle!! A 7x57 just seemed... right. This will hopefully be going to RSA 2019

I had a Belgian FN turned into a 275 Rigby. Douglas air gauged barrel, Duke of Marlborough contour, Timney trigger, Dakota safety. I'm going to finish the stock myself, trim it up in a British Stalking/Rigby Highland -ish style. These pics didn't really do justice to the wood.

1 side stamped 275, the other 7x57. It IS cut with the 275 Rigby Hi Vel chamber w/140gr throat.

The magazine came from an unmarked 98. This action came in a blind mag stock so I repurposed! It'll be covered by walnut, don't care that its pock marked

Here are a couple pics of the stock in better light

Nice!

I just finished a 7x57 / 275 Rigby build myself..

I started with an old CETME Spanish Mauser action and bottom metal that had been barreled in .308 previously. I didnt go quite as nice or high end as you did with components. Instead I picked up a short chambered green mountain 21" barrel (F1 profile) from midwayusa, and went with a timney sportsman trigger, and a timney 2 position low profile safety. I then stocked it with a Boyds "pepper" (black and grey) laminate. Fincher's Corner reforged the bolt handle and polished the bolt for me.

I finished the chamber out a couple of weeks ago, and then drilled and tapped the action for warne bases. I've still got to put a finish on the gun, but other than that, I'm done.

How did you get the barrel stamped? I've looked at buying one of the stamp kits from brownells, and considered taking the rifle to a local engraver and just having them engrave the caliber on the barrel, but havent decided how I want to handle that just yet..

I've actually got 3 project rifles I need to get the barrels stamped on at this point.. but havent figured out the best solution yet...

Tha5 stock should be a real beauty once you get it oiled up. Please post some pictures when you finish it!

Very nice piece of wood and even in this state the fiddleback is evident. That is going to be a handsome rifle when don if you follow through with the traditional stalking rifle configuration.

Looking good, must concur with what others have said. I think that stock is going to turn out very nice.

I hope we get to see the finished rifle. The stock looks gorgeous!

Going to be very nice. So, when are you going to break it in with some Africa scratch marks:rolleyes:?

Can't wait to see the finished product! Agree with others, the stock will be a beauty!

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
