Is anyone using the Hammer Bullets, I have seen some info about them lately and all the calibers and weights available are interesting. I do prefer a bullet that stays in one piece and mushrooms, but some of their concepts are thought provoking -- let me know , thanks

How have the Hammer bullets been performing on African plains game? I have a new Weatherby rifle coming from their custom shop, due to arrive this week. I had it chambered for the old 7mm Wby mag cartridge. I have some factory ammo ready but will probably handload for it.

I have been trying the lathe turned hammer bullets in some other rifles and they shoot very well. I shot one deer with a .257 Wby with a 92 gr Hammer going 3,700 fps. The bullet did as advertised.

I'm considering Hammer, Barnes and Swift bullets for this new rifle.

Not sure where I heard about these, but I looked them up and they seem interesting. I like the design of their Shock Hammer with a larger hollow point that I'm thinking may be more reliable in expanding than the Barnes TSX. I need another new bullet to work with like I need a new hole in my head, but it's been awhile since I've done any new load development and...

Thread 'Hammer Bullets'

From left to right .458 caliber 404 grain Shock Hammer. Middle is a .416 caliber 300 grain Shock Hammer and 3rd is .358 caliber 220 grain Hammer Hunter
Will be doing some 20% Clear Ballistics gell test soon

I’ve used them in Namibia on PG in 7mm PRC with great success and in Texas in 300 PRC on Nilgai. Very accurate
 
No experience with them on game yet but the ones I've loaded for have been pretty easy to find an accurate load for.
 
i have used them in .458 win on brown bear and black tailed deer. have yet to recover one, have recovered a 50 gr petal from a deer and a bear. they smash em.
