450 Rigby vs 460 Weatherby

I don't think I've ever seen a broken M98 extractor. They're as rare as rocking-horse shit.

I'd wager that Tikka's 99 year old 10.75 had some unknown history of "slamming the bolt closed to force a non magazine fed round to chamber without enough clearance in the "C ring cutout" to allow the extractor to clear when it flexes to go over the rim ". Also, its bolt look a little rough. What an old workhorse!

The 460 Brno 602? Hmmmm, perhaps just a bad part?

Anyway, Mauser CRF fans, I wouldn't worry. Two robins does not a Spring make.

I actually think the 450 Rigby is really easy to reload . 458 Calibre bullets are easily accessible . Norma make 450 Rigby stamped brass. But in a pinch 416 Rigby brass can be used if you have a sizing die. I mark these cases loaded with the 450 pill for easy identification and use them for practice . I sold my Ruger 458 Lott and got a Rigby PH 450 . Love it . Best shooting rifle with iron sights I have ever used .

I’ve seen a few broken ones, not all in the same place, must be early summer then

Second is the 8x68 and one I’d forgotten about, it came from an action that was built into a 458, the bottom corner had come off and would catch on rims every now and then
