If it works it works. Would love to know which sitatunga subspecies he needs.

I’m similar with a Winchester Pre64 M70 Super Grade in 375 H&H. With sales tax and everything all-in, I’m into the rifle for a little less than $1500. You couldn’t dream of touching one for that cost today, but it shoots no different than any standard grade you can find for $2k-4k.

That Pre64 will be the last gun I ever sell, and first gun I grab for almost any African Hunt and it’s the cheapest DG rifle I currently own.
 
The pictures are terrible. The scallops and engraving are very high quality and not overdone like many German firearms are.

True gentleman of his trade too. Folks who prefer dangerous game rifles measure by Bore vs caliber also know and trust him. He’s built some amazing customs. He is still happy to help at times…had him inspect a Heym 470 last May that I ended up passing on but he re-regulated it for the seller, amazingly well and in short order. He helped me with regulation on my little Westley Richards 450/400 this winter too. Just a great gentleman and asset to double rifle world…who is stepping back more and more.

Very cool for sure. I've actually seem DR 30 30's in the past. Maybe Baikal? IDK, but nothing of this quality. Driven boar rifle, maybe? Or skunkape... Whatever, it would be super cool to carry.
