What did you reload today?

Well……that sucked. I shot the 375 H&H brass I am reforming. The first two were fine. The third one made a weird hissing noise and the TSX got stuck about 2” from the end of the barrel. Clearly I incorrectly calculated the amount of Trail Boss I should use.

Dammit
Use a wood dowel and lightly tap it back from the muzzle end.

Success.

It was a fun day at the range Saturday; the 30-06 reloads are not mine but the…
.375H&H
350gr RNSN HD Woodleighs - Buff ammo final test
350gr FP NFork solids - Elephant ammo final test
350gr FMJ Woodleigh - experiment in my 602BRNO
270gr Soft points -cheap practice/whitetail pig load

Remarkably my buddies M70 stainless .375H&H shot all the above hand loads plus Hornady DGS factory ammo within 3” vertical ladder of bullseye @ 100yds; my BRNO 602 will not, but it does shoot the 350gr Woodleigh RNSP & FMJ to same point of impact and the .270gr 2” high at 100yds.

.300Win 180gr BTSP - sighted in the new VX5 3-15 and enjoy some steel plates

.470 NE 500gr Hornady - Because I hadn’t shot it in a while and my buddy thinks he needs a .470 so he could try it.

lol looks like you are getting ready for an inaction my friend!!!

I discovered my BRNO ZKK 602 375 H&H can handle loaded rounds of more than the max COAL of 3.600''

So, instead of loading the Barnes 270 grains TSX at 3.600'' with a jump of .220'', I loaded a series of rounds at :

3.770'', 3.745'', 3,720 and 3.695''

Even at these lenghts, they cycle and feed perfectly.

With my poor man's OAL gauge, I checked the maximum cartridge lenght with a few bullets. Every bullets at max OAL fitted in the magazine with the base just at or just below the shoulder.

Looks like the guys at BRNO knew what they were doing.. Lol

I have never heard of a 130gr OK bullet. Who makes them?

I just write “Dummy” on the case.:p

Side note on the dummy comment, in a previous life I worked for a government agency that handled benefits for people, if a file was taken out for some reason, investigation/ office transfer etc, a duplicate file was made to keep on the shelf for documents that were needed for transactions, till the files could be amalgamated. These were commonly known as dummy files and marked in large letters across the front saying "dummy file". On one occasion a staff member took the dummy file out to the front office to interview a client, it wasn’t known before that the client, who was there with her carer, was intellectually challenged. It was not a good experience for the staff member.
