In the past few years, I started shooting PRS matches as a way to stay active after hunting season, and to replicate hunting shots taken under pressure and from various field positions. It's a lot of fun. I just received this .22 LR a few days ago. The accuracy is incredible. Dime-sized groups, and it reaches out 300+ yards without any accuracy degradation. The rifle was built around Lapua .22 ammo, which is expensive by comparison but a lot less money than centerfire. If you haven't thought about this type of shooting before, hope you do as it is a lot of fun. As for the El Mefe graphic. That's in honor of my good friend who long ago got this shotgunner into big game hunting. I call my friend Mefe - as in Most Expensive Friend Ever. I named the .22 El MEFE in his honor, and have had t-shirts and stickers made to commemorate.

Congratulations! Be warned, they multiply.

Preposterously expensive .22s are just too much fun. There is some sticker shock, but when you factor in the cost of ammo and barrels you can get it back reasonably quick (at least in the context of a hobby as expensive as long range shooting).

I had a Vudoo when they first came out that gave me some trigger issues, I sold it and got a Zermatt RimX, went back to a newer Vudoo with a Bartlein barrel chambered for SK LR Match. I got one of the Anschutz rifles in an AI chassis too, but moved it on down the road because I wasn't wild about the AT-X chassis. I have a Tikka T1X in a Grey Birch chassis that isn't giving up much to the Vudoo in terms of accuracy for much less, but I like the R700 compatibility for a 1:1 analog to my centerfire gun.

If you get a chance to try NRL22 or NRL Hunter you should. I find them a little more practical than PRS for what I actually use my rifle for.

Preposterously expensive is a great way to describe this hobby. I still have my Glenfield Model 20 that my Dad gave me when I was a boy, and which is probably worth about as much as one the magazines for the new rifle! Thanks for the advice on NRL22 and NRL Hunter. I will definitely try them out. I’ve had so much fun with PRS matches (GA Precision, 6.5 CM), and highly recommend those if you haven’t try.
 
Have enjoyed NRL22 and shoot with friends that are quite advanced. I’m still pretty basic with my Savage and Magnum Research rifles. Been reasonably competitive in Steel Challenge .22 Rifle and Handgun Divisions. Hahaha!! What a blast!!!

Vudoo make a great rifle.RimX is also very competitive. My begara b14 HMR is close but does give a little to the Vudoo and RimX rifles.
 
Once you find whatever ammo the Bergara likes best they're excellent. Definitely a better value, there's a big bill due for the final 5-10% you might get out of a RimX or Vudoo.

Small difference in double rifle terms I guess, but money is money...
 
It’s a great way to practice and learn to read the wind. I went with a Tikka 1x with a 4x16 Atrkin optic. I don’t shoot PRS but some of us old farts get together once a week to shoot 100, 200 and 300 yard steel targets. Sometimes we bring out Know your limits (KYL) target racks and shoot at them at 50 and 100 yards.
 
Rimfires and airguns are fantastic ways to keep your Marksmanship tuned, especially if you shoot from a variety of positions like you do.
 
Vudoo’s are addictive. Mine was built for benchrest but I now shoot a little nrl 22 with it so it was sent out for some serious spiral flutes to lose weight. Not even sure what the stock is as it was a garage sale pickup that I stripped of paint and shot a few coats of 2 part metallic gray Epoxy paint. I’ll order a Manners for it eventually.

I've been meaning to put together a RimX to drop in my MDT chassis.
 
They are addictive. I’ve got a competition rifle been sitting in the case for 3 years now! This thread makes me think I should either shoot it or sell it.
