Spending 5 Days in Florida for some R&R with Friends. My dear friend Rafael has a beautiful place in Pirates Cove. 4 couples are here. All good friends. Rafael, Mark, Donnie and I all work together and hunt and fish together.

Rafael was here for a week making preparations. We all flew in from NorCal Tuesday. My GF and I actually took the Redeye.

Had dinner at Riviera’s.

We caught a couple small Snook in the mangrove sloughs not far from the house. Nothing picture worthy…

BTW, some fantastic wild hog hunting just south of PG. I hunted some old orchards that were no longer producing and everyone in my family scored, except me. :confused:

Just a few miles south of town on the east side of Burnt Store Rd.

Capt Mike and Seth worked hard to put us on fish at 50 Miles offshore. The big Freeman Cat was cruising at well over 40!

Nice trip…it’s a beautiful area… I had a little place right there on Little Gasparilla for a while when I lived in FL.
We loved the area…
You may want to fish for Goliaths right there real quick on the way in or out by the old docks near the mouth. Good fun…
Or…catch a stingray and catch a huge shark

I know there are plenty of sharks teeth all along that coast especially where my mom lives in Venice, but Megalodon teeth? That would be the best find ever.
 
Yes the Peace River. Even though it’s hit pretty hard.

after a good flow or Storm is best. Diving is the best way to find them, but you can sift like gold digging for them, but that’s much less productive.

Also after a storm. Offshore panning is good.

The best place to find large 5-6” teeth is in muddy, murky rivers along South Carolina and SE Georgia. Fewer people want to dive in those murky rivers. Find a gravel bed where the current picks up a little bit and it washes the silt and mud off of the gravel bed. and you just grope along with your eyes closed feeling for that shape.

We have found just about every fossil imaginable, spine and teeth from different animals and sharks. I’ve given most of mine away over the years.
