This is my current collection of pre-war John Rigby & Co. .275s—a snapshot of what the firm did best: building rifles to suit every shape and purpose. From takedowns to fixed rifles, square bridge to military actions, each one carries its own subtle differences in specs, stock shape, and overall feel. All retain their original Rigby peep sights, built for practical field use. No two are exactly alike, and each shoulders differently—yet together they reflect the remarkable range and consistency of Rigby’s pre-war work.

I bet, that’s quite a collection. I love that in the early days they did that kind of custom work based on either the rifle or the client. When I think of Rigby I think .275.

Hmm why’s the story of the top one? It seems so different than the rest.

Beautiful collection all in all!

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a stunning picture!! WOW!! Impressive!
Thank you. It took my a long long time to get the set up just right.

Beautiful collection. I love the light rifle, looks nearly identical to mine

Paul - as always, thank you for sharing and the effort you put in to portray these magnificent pieces in their best possible light (pun intented).

It's interesting to note the small nuances, eg barrel sling eye design, forend length, barrel length etc. I wonder how much of these variations are down to customer specified preferences or slight changes in design philosophy over time.

Yours must certainly be one of the pre-eminent collections of pre-war .275s.

Thanks again.

Great stuff. Any Charles Heyer guns in there?

Sold ! I’ll take the second one down from the top.

What are the rifles laying ? What is that compass. Also enjoying the cases

Nice collection. What about the 275 caliber has elicited such passion?

I really appreciate your perspective, I totally agree, it’s very interesting how the small nuances changed from rifle to rifle, they really are lovely to handle. I don’t take it lightly that I get to be the custodian of these beauties.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
