One nice rifle under $15,000

Keep the rifle I have 375 602 Brno and take te cash go hunting :ROFLMAO: Sorry is this cheating

I don’t know what a Rigby Highland Stalker costs but assuming it came in under budget that would be my choice. Caliber to be determined. Probably 9.3x62 or 300H&H.
We appreciate the support!

The price of the Highland Stalker will depend upon the options you choose. You can configure the gun according to your preferences at:

Either a used Heym DR or a Rigby Highland Stalker in what ever cartridge you would use the most.

Ah, a man after my own heart a DR! Having said that if your question is you could only have one Africa rifle period for under $15k I would choose a top end brand in 375 H&H or 404 Jeffery preferring the 404 just my POV. Having owned your choice in Chapuis you would have made an excellent choice based on my personal experience!!!
I will say that in reality, I have all I would ever need to hunt Africa already. I have a set of Ruger RSM's in 375H&H, 416 Rigby, and 458 Lott. They are incredible rifles for the money and I know the $15,000 would go a long way towards a safari but with young kids I am just not in the place right now to travel to Africa. I would love to own a double rifle one day to pass down to my son. Something of value as Ruark said.

Mauser Oberndorf Type A in .404....
Mate it sounds like this might do the trick . Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf Type A 404J with a pre WW1 magnum action - all matching numbers . Light as a feather with a horn butt plate .

In most cases, questions like this can be answered by the heart or the head. My heart would say either a Highland Stalker or Bailey Bradshaw in 9.3 to match my .275 or 7x65R respectively.

However, at that price point, my mind says it is not even close - a Blaser R8 standard configuration with .375 H&H and .300 Win Mag barrels. Not even close.

You can buy a lot of BA rifle for under $15,000. Unless you want something rare or ultra-high end, that's a big budget. Really, it's take your pick.

Gunwerks
Griffin and Howe (Highlander)
Blaser

The list goes on.

Being you said only one rifle?

If we're talking Africa? Maybe a Blaser R8 in 375HH? At that point I'd also get the 300WM barrel and call it a day.
If we're talking a double, maybe a Merkel 140 SXS 416 Rigby with ejectors.

I didn't see your comment but that was my answer too.

$15,000 buys that, glass, and probably some to spare.

All original pre WW1 Mauser A in 404 Jeff..? There sure are some serious surprises on this site. I did’nt know those things existed. Amazing!

I'd probably let Matthew Roberts of MNR build me one of his excellent, all weather McKinley rifles in .338 WM.

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
