One nice rifle under $15,000

Parkwest SD-76 bespoke in .257 Roberts

A custom built bolt action, with the nicest Turkish walnut. Mauser styled action in the cleanest English styled stock, with all mandatory safari grade additions. Quarter rib, barrel band, front sight with pop up bead…About the only thing that wouldn’t fit the budget would be the engraving…I happen to be working on one at the moment
The bolt is on the correct side.
What action is that?

Ah, a man after my own heart a DR! Having said that if your question is you could only have one Africa rifle period for under $15k I would choose a top end brand in 375 H&H or 404 Jeffery preferring the 404 just my POV. Having owned your choice in Chapuis you would have made an excellent choice based on my personal experience!!!

A Bailey Bradshaw DG caliber lever action modeled after the Savage Model 99. Actually I say that not having ANY idea if it would be under the 15K threshold.

I'd buy a Heym Martini Express in either .404 or .375 and top it with a really good scope, and put any left over money into my safari.

Krieghoff 500/416 Big Game Classic. Would have to buy this here in Germany, I don't think you could get one for $15,000 in the USA.

Blaser K95 with a FBT stock on it. Gun is $6500, stock is $2000, mount $400, Nightforce NX8 $2000. Would be perfect mountain rifle.

I like the Heym in 404 or 416 idea myself. Might be a little over $15k

Pretty hard to regret a Dakota 76 African or the new version, the Parkwest Dark Continent 76. That is a WAY better $8000-$14,000 rifle than any double rifle at that pricepoint.

A $15,000 double rifle is similar to a $15,000 super car. Sure, one exists, but no sane person really wants to own THAT one.

Caliber matters. Be careful on that one. If we're talking about bolt guns, it better be a 404 Jeff, 416 Rigby, 458 Lott, 450 Rigby, 500 Jeff, or 505 Gibbs. Any other largebore is a serious detriment to value and the guns they chamber in are not worth very much on the resale. (e.g. 458WM and 416 Rem and anything that ends in Ruger)

This is a tougher question to answer than I initially thought. But if I was a younger man, just starting my Africa journey, and I wanted (1) rifle to do everything on that continent, and I had 15k to spend------> Chapuis Iphisi 375 HH, Swaro 1-6 straight tube scope, in Talley Rings, which it is already set up for. Had a sample of one when they first came out for testing. Incredibly good accuracy with off the shelf Hornady DGX and DGS ammo. Its all you would ever need.

If you were going to purchase one nice rifle for $15,000 or less what would it be? Mine would probably be a Chapius 450/400NE double rifle.

Likely a lightly used left hand Heym 500 NE. Of course, I’ll have to keep dreaming and likely need to pay more. But, times change and sometimes you get lucky.

I already have a proper Safari rifle in a very Nice Big Bore Dakota, so I have one of my dream rifles.

What cartridge?
The suspense is killing me!

Parkwest for sure. I already have the 416 Rigby so I would go for the 22 trainer setup the same way with nice wood and case colors.

For $15,000 (or less) you could find a nice English double in 450-400 from Boswell or a similar maker.

LIke replace a stolen collection.

Rigby big game in .416Rigby, Beretta silver pigeon 20g/28g combo, some plastic wonder 9 and I could own every gun i ever need.

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
