Trophy Bonded Bear Claw or Swift A-Frame

I’ll add this too. Every trophy bonded bear claw or swift A frame I’ve recovered looks the same from an animal or newspaper. That’s where they stand out against lesser bullets.

The bottom bullet is a 300 win 180 gr Norma Oryx from 100 yards into wet newspaper (middle is 180 gr swift A frame)

This is the same 180 gr Norma oryx from an impala shoulder shot at 100 yards when bullet hits bone. Major difference.

I have had much better results with Swift vs TBB. If I can't get Swifts I use CEB these days which are always available

How so? What calibers and weights? In 375 H&H with 300 gr bullets I can’t tell difference. I do see a difference in how 30 cal and 375 cal swift A frames expand though.

Limited data points. A-Frames for me have always been a one shot affair. I've had on TBB separate on me years ago. All my experience is 300 gr 375 H&H

I’ve killed moose, caribou, elk, brown bear, kudu, oryx, zebra, sable, etc… with 200 grain TBBC out of my 300 Win.

I have used Swifts AFrames out of a 375H&H, 458 Win and 416 Rem to take Cape buffalo and 200 grain AFrames out of a 30-06 to take kudu, bush buck, impala, etc.

Both have preformed flawlessly. I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot either one. Just depending on what you can source and what shoots best in your rifle.

I will either use 200gr Terminal Acents in my .300WM or Barnes. I have a Remington 700 Sendero and frankly it digests and shoots most bullets to 1moa or better if I am having a good day. I am the problem usually.

I prefer TBBC over A-Frames out of my 375. TBBC are a little more accurate and I’ve recovered them all when used on Buffalo. A-Frames I’ve experienced a pass through on a double shoulder shot Buffalo.

I used the 200 grain terminal ascents last year out of my 300 Win. Worked perfectly on red heartabeast and blue wildbeest. If the are accurate out of your rifle then you won’t go wrong with them.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
