What did you get yourself for Christmas?

McBride’s Guns in central Austin, the gun shop I grew up in, recently sold and will change ownership in February. Sad days for me… Many hours I’ve spent in that shop and around the McBride family.

I drove down this morning with a card and some treats for Joe and see if I could find a fitting gun to make as my last purchase before the new owners take over. Came home with a used Taylor’s Uberti Winchester Model ‘66 in .38 Special, with scabbard. Should be a ton of fun to shoot.

It is sad but I am glad for them, I wasn’t sure they would be able to sell it. Got my first gun there from them a SW 686+ revolver. Congrats on your new purchase, definitely should be fun!

According to my American Express statement I got myself a Gucci bag. I was not aware Gucci made hunting accessories - I'm sure someone will have a use for it.

A week in NYC or a gift certificate for root canal? Hmmm. Let me think on that one.

Seriously, enjoy your time with family. That's what the holidays are about no matter the venue. Where do they live? Far away? I'm lucky my daughter and grandkids are just two blocks away. My grandparents were more than a day's drive so I rarely saw them. Go make some memories and report back. That's an order. :D
They live at Upper East side of Manhattan. Daughter got my partner and I gym passes to use, so was able to keep up. I vacation with them overseas and see them often here in NYC. I wouldn’t live here, but it is a great place to visit.
I leave for home on the 27th and they will be heading to Dominican Republic for New Year’s the following day. A brand new St. Regis opened up at the beach there for them to relax before the grind of the next year.

Don’t know if counts for me or not.
But got the boys a cupple of trapping kits.
We are over run with coons.
The for me part is me not having to mess with it.
And I want the coons gone.
Messing with my quail and turkey
What trapping kit did you buy? Looking to get into this also. Merry Christmas

I did one day with the old classical look for the chairman of the board @Kevin Peacocke of our Carruthers club

In truth you can do a lot with AI…My lovely wife would not be caught anywhere there are tents and/or a single bug. She already told me she will go with me on one of my yearly safari’s but she is flying business class and staying the duration of my hunt at The Victoria Falls Hotel…oh well I am at least making progress getting her to the continent !!!!!

I bit the bullet and bought a SilencerCo Scythe Ti suppressor for use with some of my newer hunting rifles. I decided in early November to set up an NFA Trust and get the can and since I expected the ATF to be flooded with applications in January, I paid my tax to get it now. While it takes a few extra days to set up a trust and get all the trustees on board, it only took 9 days for ATF to get the approves in even though the Gov't was shut down. It goes really well with my two Carbon Fiber-Titanium 7mm rifles. Also, right before Christmas I committed to book a Canada Moose hunt for next fall. Am excited to get into the preparation for that adventure.

Thinking about a new watch for myself. Have my eye on a few different gmt options for a while. Having all of my daughters at home for the holidays has been great, and all I could ask for.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
