on a lighter note...

I used to drive an F250 7.3L Diesel. I never shut it down when fueling it up. It takes massive pressure and/or massive heat to ignite Diesel. A cigarette won't get there.
I still drive my ‘02 7.3 (only 131K on it) and I almost never shut it off when fueling, especially after pulling or higher speed driving. Have to let the turbo cool off. I see a lot of guys with diesels never letting the turbo cool. Maybe with the newer trucks you don’t have to, but I’ll bet your supposed to?

Given the temperature in which exhaust turbines operate and the very high rotational speeds you’d think that letting the turbine’s rpms and exaust temp drop before turning off the engine and thus interrupt lubrication would be common sense. But I guess common sense is not that common. Half the drivers on the roads don’t understand that brake pads wear out so talking about oil pumps and engine lubrication is like trying to teach basic economy to a commie.

You can also do that in gasolin, no problem. I have done that many times to demonstrate whic is most dangerous, a full or an empty tank.
tick tick tick tick

Can do and should do aren't always the same thing. Yes it works but what happens when someone you showed that to tries it show it to someone else and doesn't get it right. Yikes!

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
