Hunting reports
Africa
1
I have hunted in several countries and had been to Africa on sightseeing and Photo trips but never hunted. In 2019 finally got to go to Namibia on my first African Hunting safari. Our trip was set with Khomas Highlands Safaris in Namibia. Issac met us at the Airport loaded our luggage and we were off. We arrived about midnight , , went to bed , woke showered met Philip and our guides. Eat a great breakfast, went and shot rifles and we were hunting. Had three animals in my mind Kudu, Gemsbok. and Springbok. Saw several Kudu on the first morning but none I shot. First afternoon came upon very nice Red Hartebeast it became my first African trophy. First day saw several species of animals and realized how many animals I was really interested in. Second morning Issac found a Kudu for me, It made SCI minimum 121 6/8. Second afternoon very nice trophy Springbok. Third morning Trophy Blue Wildebeast. Third afternoon Zebra, 4th morning Steenbok making SCI minimum, , 4th afternoon Impala, Fifth morning Baboon and Jackle, Fifth afternoon missed huge Warthog. This is truly the most amazing hunt I have ever been on. Every need was attended to Daily laundry and linen, very comfortable and clean accommodations , fantastic meals, If you drink bar with beer on tap, cooler with beer, wines, soft drink, juices, waters, ciders,. After we settled in Philip said they were going to town to replenish supplies and ask if there was anything special we needed or wanted. I could eat the Chefs cooking year round. Everyone there treated you as though you were special. Made several new friends while I was there and still keep in touch with owners and guides. Have return trip 2021 and 6 friends are going with me. Could not believe the amount of game, read several expert that said you could book 10 day hunt and not kill a Kudu . Had opportunity at several good Kudu in the five days I was there. Cant imagine a better place to hunt. They look for Trophy quality animals, even for first time hunters, and they stay with you from start to finish..

This is great!

I post a negative review so they get guys to jump on and do reports. It’s actually a good tactic. Wish I had as fantastic a hunt as this guy.

Hello Dicky, we had an excellent fun and adventurous time during your stay with us! I am really looking forward welcoming you and the Gentleman back in Africa next year May. The rainy season has started here, we see large numbers of game every day. Wish you a prospective new year and see you soon to cheers at the new bar over a cold Beer
My best regards
Philip

It does seem a little weird that the writer just joined this web site. Too bad you had a negative experience, something I am familiar with as well. But this outfit generally gets consistently good reviews.

Sometimes when everyone has a good experience except for one hunter the problem does not lie with the outfitter. Cant imagine anyone hunting with them and not having a wonderful experience. They work as hard as any and are glad you are with them. Your post make me wonder who you might represent.

Received invitation from Africa Hunting to join so I did. Have had one hunt in Africa so I thought I would share my experience along with photos. Did not expect to have people I do not know questioning my reasons. My experience and hunt was fantastic. Thought it would be nice to share , hope joining wasn't a mistake

I’ve had 10-15 people reach out to me to know my experience. You’re welcome to private message me and I’ll send it over to you as well Mr Dick.

And unfortunately I’ve had others that have read my comment and private messaged me to hear what happened that have had bad hunts with Khomas. They have just chosen to not say anything. I didn’t either for a long time but kept feeling like I was potentially sending another hunter into a bad experience by my silence.

So you hinted I must represent a competitor. I don’t. But I do represent someone. I represent every member of AH considering a hunt to Namibia. It’s a huge undertaking of money and time to hunt Africa and choosing an honest outfitter is incredibly important.

an outfitter that is willing to lie and tell you what you want to hear is stealing your ability to make a good decision for your hunt. And if he’s done it to me then he potentially could do it to someone else on this site and I think it’s appropriate that people go in with their eyes wide open.

You implied they got people to get on here in response to a post you had made . I haven't seen your post I received a invitation to join and post so I did . I relayed my experience with Photos . My groups experience surpassed our expectations. everyone is entitled to there own opinion, you can take mine for what you think its worth and I will take yours for what I think it is worth.
