COVID-19 Coronavirus UPDATES, BANS, CLOSURES, ADVISORY, etc.

Wonder if NYC will turn the corner as soon as people hope. Photo from yesterday or today. ........

If that picture is truly from yesterday, I don't even know what to say.
(I hope the photo os really telephoto compression) Optical illusion.

@Royal27 That one would be self correcting for sure.

Leadership will need to find a serious balance, or the economic effects of the Virus could be much worse then the recession of 2008, or a nightmare out of the 1930's.

This is the 600 lb gorilla in the room. Bounce back ain’t gonna be quick and to be honest, when our young and rather soft population figures this out, they will absolutely be shitting in their skinny jeans and crying in their ironic beards. An economic depression makes an awful lot of the things this country/world has been focused on for the last years look awwwfuly insignificant.

The Calgary Winter Olympics.
Where the craziest athletes ever got to compete.
Looking off that 90 metres tower is something to behold. Not for the faint of heart, no matter how well the landing area is designed.

Were you able to see him?

I would enjoy climbing to the top of the 90 meter ramp to look down the hill.

Never would I ski down the ramp. If I got up the courage to do it, I would look like the guy in the old wide world of sports video.

Found out later that the photo was from today.

They were looking at the USNS Comfort at Pier 90.

There could be some compression, but I think they were all around 50th st.

Later I saw some other photos of NYC from today that were showing no one on the streets, so this was probably an event that got some people out for photos. Hopefully not the norm.

The 20 something child who checked me out at the grocery store today said “Well I really don’t want to be here” when I asked how she was today. I assured her that next week, when the thousands unemployed people have to start paying bills, she won’t have to worry about coming to work. An entire generation who’ve never lived in a competitive job market are getting ready to get dope slapped.

@BRICKBURN here is something I saw today based on what you were saying. This is an extremely limited study but if it's true, it could have some serious consequences because we aren't even close to being capable of protecting vast amounts of people this way. If it truly is airborne, a nationwide shutdown, stay at home, no essential businesses except power and water being open type thing would be the only solution to even come close to trying to beat it. Otherwise we are just pissing in the wind I think but I also don't think they would ever do that kind of shutdown. They aren't saying it now of course, but i would think the acceptable loss would have to be a pretty large number as well.

The kids here in Texas at the HEB were confident, remarkably professional, and caring. And a lot of folks, myself included, were thanking them for their contribution. Of course, I spent a lot of time around such young folks in the military. They just need a challenge - like every generation.

The millenials I have encountered here in Tucson, seem to think that a challenge is what level they can achieve on a video game.

Trump´s self-congratulatory presence marks stark contrast with death toll..

And now he is frantically trying to deny all his previous ignorant stupid comments...even though they are all out in public..

What a valuable and thoughtful contribution to this discussion. Perhaps our moderator could provide a thread to discuss Scandinavian leadership in the current crisis.

Only a small part around DC is blue, it makes me sick that VA is a blue state.

Sadly, a lot more of VA has gone blue than just DC..

Richmond is blue.. NoVA (DC metro) is blue.. Charlottesville is blue.. and a pretty significant amount of the population in the tidewater is blue..

Its a very different state today than when I lived there about 20 years ago..

Back then, for the most part in DC metro, all the red folk lived in VA.. and the blue folk lived in MD and DC proper..

He is after all your President..he has been denying corona being a problem far too long..fumbling along...but by all means keep on praising him..

Personally I think Cuomo stand out much more as a leader these days..

Scandinavia is doing rather well in comparison to the rest of Europe..

Yeah that is the problem is all of the Maryland transplants have taken over more counties than Fairfax. The tidewater has gotten bluer in recent years and Richmond is a hipster town now. I have watched it change so much in the last 10 years it is crazy.

If you think Cuomo is a leader, you should get a new source for your news.

Trump could have done things better in hindsight, yes, but he is also not trying to destroy the economy. I think he even said the cure cant be worse than the symptoms. Overall I think he has done a good job given the circumstances.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
