Johan Nolte, a young, upcoming Master Hunting Guide in Namibia, was diagnosed with urothelial carcinoma early this year. Johan is 24 years old. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy in an attempt to shrink the tumor, before undergoing surgery.

Johan has a passion for conservation and the environment and is due to take his official Professional Hunting exam soon. He is incredibly hard-working and has shown that he has a huge amount of potential in the hunting industry.

Unfortunately his medical insurance does not cover all his chemotherapy treatments. Johan spent 4 years with Ndumo Safaris as an apprentice, and we would like him to excel in his profession and lead a full life.

In order to raise funds to assist him with his medical expenses and rehabilitation Ndumo Safaris would like to donate a non-export buffalo hunt to be auctioned. The hunt would be a 7-day hunt for one hunter & an observer or an outfitter & his hunter (value approximately US$10 000), and the targeted buffalo would be an old bull, 36” or below. Bids can be placed by replying to this message, or via email to admin@huntingsafaris.net. The cut-off date for bids is 31 March 2020.

Should you not bid on the buffalo but would like to make a financial contribution, a fund called JC Nolte Cancer Collection Fund has been created. Johan's mother, Saskia Harteveld can be contacted for the bank details should anyone wish to contribute privately. Her contact details are +264 811224884, or saskia@xamsafaris.com.

The winning bidder will deposit the funds directly to the JC Nolte Cancer Collection Fund, and Ndumo Safaris will co-ordinate the further hunt arrangements with the bidder.

Thank you in advance for your participation!

We'll definitely jump in and start at $4000! Great cause and knowing the quality buff you shoot a 32 incher with broken tips is just fine!

Thank you for your bid!

Hi Thomas
We plan on taking bids until the end of March, and then the hunt can be done any time from April onwards. However, our priority is to provide financial assistance as soon as possible, so if we receive a good bid before the end of March we might not wait longer, and then the hunt can even be done during March.
Kind regards, Colleen

Hi,
$4500,00 bid...

1st of all all the best to Johan during this challenge. I trust he will respond well to his oncology treatment, without to many side effects, and that he will be back hunting soon.

I’ll bid $5000 for the hunt.

Very fine gesture indeed. I'm just curious why this would be a non-exportable. I have heard about non-exportable elephant and lion but not generally associated with buffalo.
Good luck and may you raise a generous donation amount.

Great cause! Good luck with the bidding!

Ndumo
A truly magnificent gesture for the young man. Humanity and compassion still exists.
Congratulations
Cheers
Bob Nelson.

Karl,
Because of world events associated with Covid-19, and measures implemented beyond my control in the days since my last post in this thread, I am at this time regretfully withdrawing my bid.
