What do you say to a guy who always says I shot it then tracked it for a Kilometer? This guy shoots a 416 Weatherby. ??????????

1. A kilometer....is that all?!

or

2. Haven't you heard the minimum responsible caliber for deer is the .505 Gibbs?

he only hunts the toughest individuals of a species ! or needs to review shot placement ! or is full of ........!!!:)

You pity him...

Get a smaller gun and shoot it better!!.....this is after you smack him arround a little bit of course!!

SpikeT been great. At aGunsmithing course learning how to build bench rest guns.

In his life: Three inches is a foot in his life!

Tell him that he either needs to learn how to shoot a big gun or he needs to get a gun with much less recoil or he just needs to learn how to shoot no matter what gun he uses......

Tell him about the 800yd shot you made on a whitetail at the far end of a football feild. LOL

Bart

What kind of animals are we talking...or ground squirrel, Elephant or plains game...

You could suggest that he tailor his ammo to the game being perused.

Checking 416 reloading bullets there is a variety for reloading and suggest he take a class in reloading.

Also suggest that he have his rifle checked out buy a gunsmith for accuracy as you cannot believe that he is such a poor shot, to wound every game animals that he has shot at.

Welcome back BART, glad you are doing well. Sounds like your freind might have (as others have suggested) shot placement issues due to the caliber he is shooting. Back him down to a 375 H&H or one of the 9.3's and see how he does. Just have him try it for a season, see if it helps. If he is still tracking for a kilometer, change bullets, or have him carry an 06 or 300wm. Could always have him buy a 35Whelen:p:cloud9::beer::uptosome::uptosome::uptosome:

I agree.

Tell him your level of interest is inversely proportional to the distance the animal is tracked ....

LOL too true

Just found out today he shot his lion at 75 meters 5 times to kill it. I was dumbfounded by his lack of skill.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
