Would you like a Cigar?

I'm still waiting to hear about that shopping spree at the B&M.

Well, life has gotten in the way of shopping. I still have your shopping list Brent saved on my phone when I find time. Headed out tomorrow to go deer hunting for a week. Got the Don Peppin, My Father, Partagas Cubans, and El Rey Del Mundo packed. Oh, and got a gun packed too.

Punch Classic.

Hardly been any Mosquito's at my place all summer. Here it is almost mid October, and the little bloodsuckers decide to molest me during my, Cigar-a-thon BBQ beer bonanza.
Go figure!

Ive smoked a couple of these already but today's has been sitting in my humidor for six months. Man does it make a difference! Went from really good to borderline great!

I always try and give a month rest but when I can be even more patient I'm often rewarded .

Downside is I've missed out on some great small batch stuff that was sold out by the time I smoked the single....

Cigars Int. Just introduced a Southern Draw sampler 5 pack not to long ago that I have been wanting to order. My local shop doesn't carry them. I think they introduced a couple new blends at the trade show this summer.

I've only had the JL and the Rise if Sharon but they are both great and in my humidor. I will try more and just haven't

Understood. I haven't been down to my local shop in almost a month. They probably wonder what happened to the faithful once a week customer? Been doing most of my shopping at CI lately, to cut down on my Cigar budget. Need to squirrel away some cash and get a new truck.

First fall evening here in Nashville. 48 deg, no fan on the porch. Football on porch TV. Gone from 70’s at night to 40’s. May not ever come in. Enjoying a Don Pepin Classic.

I love this time of year. sit outside and smoke cigars and BBQ , without sweating buckets.
Watched the Alabama/ T A&M, game earlier.

Just smoked my last Don Pepin Blue, yesterday. Need to get some more. I've never met a Cigar from the Garcia family that I didn't like, with the exception of a couple of the San Cristobals marketed by Ashton.

Maybe Steve Saka has made a bad cigar but I haven't found it.

The Sin Compromiso is another cigar that I will always try and have in my humidor .

I was looking forward to trying a Nub Nuance/cafe today but ran into several problems

I've never had a more difficult time getting it lit. I don't like using direct flame but had to

Next thing I know the cigar is bulging so badly that it split the wrapper

And then finally 1" in the entire cigar blew up like in the old cartoons :A Blowup:

I think I will stick with Tabak for my infused cigars

That happens to me occasionally. I think that Cigars that carry alot of moisture inside have a tendency to blow up. That moisture expands when the heat hits the tobacco, it swells and cracks

Yup!

And another reason to keep them in a humidor at 65% (for me and where I live) for a couple of months before smoking .

I used to think I had a lot is cigars with burn issues. Turns out that almost all of the "burn" issues were actually over humidification issues.

Oh and this Sobremesa sure is good. Only five left, so it's time to buy some more!

Yep... @Brent in Az is correct..

While not the only reason for a wrapper blow out (sometimes the pectin they use to hold the seams isnt applied well or correctly... sometimes the wrapper leaf just has a soft spot or a crack in it that has resulted from poor handling while getting packed and/or shipped).. over humidified cigars is very often the culprit..

try dropping your RH down to 65 or lower and see what you think..

many guys that are really into smoking swear by anything from about 63-65%.. and you'll rarely find a serious collector that stores cigars of any real monetary value keeping RH above 65%..

much lower than 63% and cigars will start to dry out, loose their oils, etc.. and become bland...

but many sticks actually taste their best.. and perform their best a good bit below the standard cigar shop 70% that most stores keep their walk in humidors set at..

My cabinet is sitting at a nice 64% right now.. and I couldnt be happier :)

A Rocky Patel 1990 Vintage, and a couple of glasses of Argentinean Red Wine to take the edge off the work week.

Anyone want to thread-jack this place by discussing Cuban Rum also?

havana club is awesome, the older vintages become bourbon like (maestro) and pair with cigars so well!
