Right folks,
The new Bridge at Kazangula got me thinking. You’ve got several months, not many budget constraints and the permits to be with guns and ammo where ever you choose to be… so seems like the excuse for a road trip.
So, you’ve obviously got a Land Cruiser, with decent aircon and plenty of extra Diesel and spare tyres.
You’ve got snacks as you need and a decent enough phone / laptop combo to book camp sights and lodges along the way.
So, where do you go and what battery do you take to be able to take advantage of whatever opportunities there might be?
So, for me, it would be:
.22lr Brno bolt action – because who doesn’t like a little .22lr with subs?
.223 Rem – CZ527 with a 3-12x50 scope and a 62gr soft points. Great for any members of the “Tiny 10”
7x64 – Mausingfield action,165gr soft points, 2.4-16x56 scope and that should cover plains game
.404 Jeffery – FN Commercial action. Should deal with the DG stuff or large PG. 400gr Solids and softs, maybe some of Peregrines 320gr for PG
12 Bore – I’d take my Browning O/U with multi chokes. Take a box of slugs, AAA and No. 4 buck shot, 5s and some No. 3s as goose shot which should cover most things whether Tiny 10, wing shooting or maybe slotting something that is dozy enough to walk past your hide
So, folks, what would you take?
Scrummy
