Hello and welcome!

Welcome aboard Jaco Prinsloo. Please tell us a little more about you as a hunter. For instance are you considered a "Designated Hunter" by the SA government? What animals have you taken in the past? Do you primarily hunt for "biltong?" What caliber rifles do you own? Are you aware that there are several AH members that live near you?

Welcome to AH Jaco!

Hi, well I won't consider myself as a designated hunter but more as a occasional hunter.. I do hunt for meat purposes instead of biltong only. My aim is always to better the price per kilogram with game than one will pay for beef. Have recently done the math that for household use its much cheaper and it includes, biltong, drywors, steaks, boerewors etc.. Also depends on what game you choose to shoot and at what price and the carcass mass you get out..
Have shot, Impala, blesbok, kudu, wildebeest and waterbuck.. However if by choice eland and gemsbok will be my preferred choices. But sometimes pricing plays a big role and the I am more likely to hunt female game as well as other species . Mainly my caliber use is 30.06 at 180gr rounds.. Mainly amaing for headshots as the meat loss is less to none.. I have a believe that, if i works, don't change it..You don't need the biggest or most expensive caliber to hunt. Whatever works when needed will do for me..

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
