As far as I know this rifle has never been fired. I've owned it since the mid 80's. It's been in a gun cabinet or safe since it came into my possession. 99 rounds of ammo included.

Rifle is located in Austin area. $1300 obo

I got one just like it. Great round that is about perfect for any game on N.A. and plains game for those that can handle it. The 8 Mag is a hard hitter on both ends. I have had excellent results on elk with the 8 Mag, the only reason I moved to a 338 was bullet selection at the time.

I have to ask, is this the old WW2 German round or a variation thereof?
No sir, the 8mm Remington Magnum is a much larger cartridge.
Here is a comparison picture of a 30-06 on the left and 8 Mag on the right

Use one to cull in RSA with 170 gr bullets perfect for plains game with 250gr woodleigh SP buff drop beautifully .....even dropped a giraffe with one ....very flexible round

Beautiful Rifle I hope it finds a good home

A friend of mine shot a big billy goat with the 8mm. Literally filleted it!

Nice caliber, this gun would be great for North America and Africa.

I bought just such a gun when I was last in the US... had it rebarrel to the 8x68S
I no one takes it, I will be interested in the ammo, maybe I need a 8mm Rem mag after all.

I wish I would have seen this post last summer. Do you still have it? Please let me know. 907-980-1275 text or call.

Remington came out with the 8mm mag in 1978 .
Yes the 8x68s is an earlier German round .....perhaps 10 percent less powerful than the 8mm rem mag ...Very popular in Europe ...and no belted case

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
