As far as I know this rifle has never been fired. I've owned it since the mid 80's. It's been in a gun cabinet or safe since it came into my possession. 99 rounds of ammo included.

Rifle is located in Austin area. $1300 obo

I got one just like it. Great round that is about perfect for any game on N.A. and plains game for those that can handle it. The 8 Mag is a hard hitter on both ends. I have had excellent results on elk with the 8 Mag, the only reason I moved to a 338 was bullet selection at the time.

I have to ask, is this the old WW2 German round or a variation thereof?

No sir, the 8mm Remington Magnum is a much larger cartridge.
Here is a comparison picture of a 30-06 on the left and 8 Mag on the right

8mm Rem Mag has always intrigued me. More power than .338 win mag and has some great bullet options as well! Beautiful rifle and good luck with the sale.

The parent case for the 8mm mag is the 375 H&H.

A friend of mine shot a big billy goat with the 8mm. Literally filleted it!

I believe this is one of Craig Boddingtons favorite caliber, if it means anything to anyone.

Nice caliber, this gun would be great for North America and Africa.

I bought just such a gun when I was last in the US... had it rebarrel to the 8x68S
I no one takes it, I will be interested in the ammo, maybe I need a 8mm Rem mag after all.

No marks. I can take photos of any area that you would like to see in more detail. The scope is a redfield 3x 9x that is as old as the rifle.

Yes the 8x68s is an earlier German round .....perhaps 10 percent less powerful than the 8mm rem mag ...Very popular in Europe ...and no belted case
