What do you do when your taxidermist wont respond

What do you do when your taxidermist wont respond to your text or phone calls?

No need to not mention names. It's me. I don't answer the phone all day as I HAVE to mount animals. I work.
Ted your 2 mounts are done and have been. When you brought in the safari you wanted to do it over a few years. So I paid out of my pocket for the tanning to be done for your skins and then you started making some payments with the 2 mounts done for 6 months and the cost of the tanning I paid I'm still to covered out of pocket but I was trying to HELP you for getting screwed so bad by your PH and DIP PACK. Your Kudu and Bushbuck mounts are pretty much covered by your 2500 payments but not the rest of the tanning charges. So much for trying to help.
I have your 2 mounts done for 6 months ready to deliver to you when I go to texas on a delivery YES. Have I gone there yet NO. I suggested shipping the mounts to you in crate via freight and you requested not to hand deliver them you asked. I ma setting up Texas as soon as all 5 safari's are done for the trip, It will be soon. Sorry are communication is not what you expect. My apologies . If you want the elk out of your freezer, hell I'll pay the shipping cost of the cape if you go buy a cooler to send it in fed ex 2-3 day delivery. Ps You talk to Jamie.
I get 30-40 calls or more per day.
The ONLY way to remedy me my communication issue is hire taxidermist that to me are less qualified and I just sit at a desk and answer the phone and they mount the pieces and you get so so work they produce not my quality.

Or... just put a post on AH and let him respond:)

I'm going thru that now. I have been asking my taxidermist who I have been using now for several years for a quote on what I want done to my African shipment coming in. I ve left several e mail messages and have spoken to his girl who answers the phone twice. Still no call back. Guess I will use someone else who has recently helped me with an Ibex I had to have redone. I won't chase him down when I'm trying to give him close to 10k in work.
Johnny give me a shout brother, I’d love to do your work.

The taxidermist recieved my African shipment of 10 animals from the USA tannery around January 2015.

The promise was to deliver 2 shoulder mounts per year.
Brother as a taxidermist myself I can tell you it can be frustrating. Denis has had my shipment since 2015 as well and I completely understand how frustrating and hard it can be to get a hold of him. That being said I also understand where he is at and what the deal is. There are many things out of our control and unfortunately he’s behind. I am too because of a tannery issue. Denis is an absolutely phenomenal taxidermist and he has the good fortune of having a reputation that puts him years, not months, behind. Ive gotten frustrated over the situation too but I can promise he will deliver but it’s going to be a while. Denis and I both have the exact same opinion when it comes to our work. It’s about quality not quantity. I’m ready for my stuff to be done too but at the end of the day I want it done in Denis fashion and style sooooo that comes with a painful wait. He’ll deliver no worries man.

patients is a wonderful virtue,at 78 i am a virtueless old man, every thing i plan now i have to stop and think, will i see this to the end, retirement is wonderful but not quite as good as youth.i mean this as a humorist quote.chuckle,chuckle.

Open and honest comunication is what I desire.

Not speed....... I was well aware that this would be a 5 year plus process
That I completely understand and agree.

Just reading from afar, but in the amount of time it took for Dennis to type up his reply, he probably could have picked up the phone and gave Ted a call. Just sayin'

Perhaps a phone call from Dennis will get this situation lined back out and back on task.

I'm lucky that the two taxidermists I use call me more than I call them!

There you go. Nothing dastardly

Hands free calling! Problem solved.

The low budget hands free phone accessory is another option

Dang. It didn't post as a gif. This puppy shakes his head

My experience is that the emails will get answered in time but the phone communication doesn't. The man is doing the work I get it but someone helping with the phone calls would be a good thing.
His work is very good so I'm sure he has more than he can do.
If someone gets distracted from detailed work repeatedly.......they will not get much done.
So what to do?

I did contact Ted, had long conversation . Problem is resolved and thanks for those that understand even tho' it is a problem with communication on my part at times. I run the shop, organize the work, order everything supplies forms all of it, take care of shipping, take in skins from brokers and the tannery, inventory and keep straight orders. and do all the mounts take pictures , do all the advertising and I do have time issues but who doesn't. My artists mind has very little business or organizations skills but I do my best as always.
Thanks, and GIZMO I'm going to post PICS of your lion this weekend....
He is Smoking.....FULL Charging going to KILL YOU pose ! You better be ready to RUN!

This is exactly what I was expecting to hear! Taxidermists are busy and it takes a long time to get the work done. I respect your answer sir.

Can't answer a phone call or return one, can't send an email . . . but can respond to a post on AH ?
Really ?

Perhaps the few minutes of breaks he gives himself he chooses to spend some time on AH to decompress and read about what gets him excited to do his work in the first place. Or perhaps, being that he is a sponsor and posting on AH is marketing and work for him, that's why he chose to post. Either way, I love seeing sponsors and/or companies address any issues on forums. just good business to do so.

Agreed. At least he was able to get a response.
Phone call would have been very easy.

After months of un-replied text, phone call and e-mails I am sorry that it took a public post to get a phone call.

Tending the phone, e-mails and text of your current and future customers may be time consuming but it is a big part of staying in business.
