Would it be prudent to leave the Medicaid cuts alone until after the mid-terms, or gut the budget now, and take a chance on the repercussions and fall out?
The MSM will run with the narrative that the GOP just gave a death sentence to those on Medicaid.

as bad as medicaid needs to be put back under control.. I think it should have been left out and presented as its own bill.. its going to take an act of God to get any real movement on it.. if the GOP had 10 more votes available Im not sure they'd get it done.. there's just too much of a political hill to die on with Medicaid and too many congress critters (on both the left and the right) that value keeping their jobs over properly serving the American people..

I think they should have a huge fight over Medicaid.. the the R's need to expose how many billions of dollars get spent on people that have no reason or right to be covered, etc..

But everyone knows the deep cuts that are wanted by a large number of R's arent happening...

So why kill the rest of the bill over that one issue?

With a 31% drop in Canadians crossing the boarder in automobiles and a 13.5% drop in air travel, states that do any amount of business through tourism must be down on revenue. Those figures are year over year comparisons and have been down similarly each of the last four months.

Has anyone in the u.s. noticed a marked decrease in tourists ? Tourism is big business here in the summer months but we won’t start to notice until the ferry starts for the season if the decrease is reciprocal.
Well, it was on my bucket list to go to Canada, esp. this year, but due to thoughts about Canadians disliking Americans over "51st state" issues, we went to Tahoe instead (also on my bucket list)
Sad, as I caught a much smaller lake trout than I envisioned being available in Canada.

Unfortunately you probably chose the right path, from what I can see Americans for the most part are getting the cold shoulder locally. Including those who have been coming here to summer homes for years. I’m afraid it will be a long time if ever before the relationship is repaired.

Come to the Great Lakes. Cheaper and much less hassle than fishing in Canada.

For any of you that are headed to Canada just a heads up , exchange your currency at a banking institution. I can’t speak for the rest of the country but locally small businesses that used to offer exchange rates are now only accepting u.s. currency at 1/1.

Tubby this is your second post warning American's about travel to Canada. Maybe this is an East Coast thing but doesn't apply to a lot of the rest of Canada. In Saskatchewan bear season is going full bore and fishing season is starting. Same in Alberta and BC. As far as the dollar exchange the banks give you the daily trade rate. As far as business you may not get full value but no one her is trading at pare. Most of the Canadians I know aren't mad at Americans other than Trump with his tariffs and daily chaos!

Well, yes and no. The decision says that the 350K as a group don't have protection. But have you (or whoever drafted the "Winning" statement) actually read the order?

The order states:

"This order is without prejudice to any challenge to Secretary Noem's February 3, 2025 vacatur notice insofar as it purports to invalidate EADs, Forms I-797, Notices of Action, and
Forms I-94 issued with October 2, 2026 expiration dates."

What that means, in general terms, is that instead of one large action for all 350,000 Venezuelans involved, each individual Venezuelan can bring their own action to challenge any attempt to deport them depending on their individual circumstances.

Winning?

It’s possible is only an sou west Nova thing, with our lobster season winding down I haven’t been out of the tri counties in a couple months. As for the exchange par is what’s being offered I’m on my way in from off shore If it’s still day light when I get in all snap a picture of the paper taped to a off shore fishing charter window.

Yep, winning!

if you insist spike , your not going to get me to agree with you on the fish thing though when a recipe starts with “age fish” hard pass on my part.

Had an English neighbour down the road a piece who unfortunately has now passed on, he played a lot of cribbage with father over tea in the morning. He come in one morning through the kitchen and I had four dishes set out I was dividing haddock fillets into. The fillets in question had been forgotten on the back of my truck overnight after a trip longlining and were vile dripping slime. The old gentleman god bless his soul looked aghast and said what are you doing!! All that’s wrong with that fish is that you haven’t aged it long enough to develop flavour. The dishes in question? They were for my hounds…

To be fair most of the fish I eat was swimming less that 24 hours ago so I’m probably biased.
Yuck, that's right up there with them hanging pheasants by the neck until the body falls off. Bet it's REAL flavorful....

lol I experienced that in 2017, had to buy a moose tag, black bear tag, fishing license & outdoor card - no credit cards excepted and USA cash was 1/1!

Our outfitter warned us ahead of time and I got $1,300can from the bank beforehand- combined with the poachers, game wardens who would do nothing about the poachers, but they did question us for 1.5 hours after seeing me buy a moose export permit that I needed to take the meat back with me…..

yeah that straw broke the camels back and I decided there were much more fun and deserving places to spend my time and money.

The biggest cover-up in modern history

Been avoiding this thread and posting in it, but must confess to checking it out every so often. I really don't care when they knew about his cancer or not in reality. Covering it up, yah not such a good thing I'd agree.

But I'm far more interested in the cover up that is keeping the Epstein island visitors from being more exposed and those the should be brought to justice not being so. That is a much bigger cover up and more concerning to me than Joe's health now that he is out of office.

Coincidentally, my experience with CBSA also happened in 2017. It was not related to game meat import/export or hunting. It was a 4 hour plus ordeal during a simple airline layover transit between flights at Vancouver Intl. Separation and questioning of family… my young kids, my wife and I, all for no reason. We weren’t coming from nor going to Canada. Simple flight transit at airport. That experience with Canadian authority arrogance mindset convinced me you couldn’t pay me enough to return. We won’t be visiting in the future for any reason. To hell with caring about import/export tariffs or residents with hurt feelings and TDS. I didn’t lose anything there and don’t need to buy or sell anything there.

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
