ZIMBABWE: Zimbabwe Elephant + Leopard

Congratulations!!! Looks like the hunt gods have smiled on your group.

A two elephant day is pretty special and shared by brothers! That's a successful hunt if it ends right there. Curious to see if you get some luck on old Spots...hopefully buff also.

2 good bull elephants in one day is very special. Lots of good memories there. Keep the report coming.

Very nice. Congratulations! What a moment to share with your brother.

Safari comes to an end. Great safari with plenty of PG, some ivory and unfortunately no leopards. Still nothing to complain about.
Many memories in the backpack and a mix feeling of happiness for returning to see my family and the sadness of knowing that it will be at least several months until I return.
We explored some new territories and found great pockets. Sure enough we had a couple of days that we had problems, but after all this is what a traditional safari is all about.
We tried HARD for the leopard, but I guess it wasn't meant to happen.

Great hunt and effort with some very good outcomes...what a memory. Many of us can empathize on the cat...they seem to either come very easy or they are hard earned...mostly hard earned!

I'd say you came out ahead and then some. congrats on a great safari! the leopard just gives you an excuse to go back.

Excellent safari! Even without the leopard, you did great!

Congrats on a great hunt. Which area did you hunt and who was the outfitter?

This was Matetsi ECA and we also hunted Matetsi-Unit5 for buffalo. The operator was/is Elephant Trails Safaris. The PH/partner is Shingi, great person. The other partner is in the US, Marco, I never got to meet in person.

I hunted with Shingi. Here is also my report on AH. It wasn't through Elefant Trails at the time but he was freelancing in another area. He was a great guy, very nice and hardworking, we hunted from dusk till dawn every day. Until we got what we wanted. As a beginner he helped me a lot, gave me advice and looked after me. I highly recommend hunting with him. We also talked about the fact that he has gone into business for himself with a partner. When he has his own Elefant Trails he will probably try harder as he is working on his own business and reputation.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
