It has taken me quite some years to take what I feel constitutes being called a monster Bushpig, a boar that is comfortably over the 100Kg mark. If not for the invitation by Gareth Haines and Jacques Dames to come and hunt their virgin territory my dream would most probably never have been realised. On the second night luck was on our side when the massive boar and his sounder of seven finally came in, giving me a quartering away shot at 25 yards. After the shaving sharp Muzzy Trocar came to a shuddering stop against the giant boars far shoulder be barely made it 50 paces before going down.

If you have ever wondered just how tough a Muzzy Trocar was, check this out. I shot the 100gr Trocar in the attached photo into the far shoulder joint of this monstrous Bushpig boar at 25 yards out of my 81# Elite Energy, the 500gr arrow came to a violent and shuddering stop. After recovering the broadhead from that busted shoulder I was dumbstruck by what I found, a flawless Trocar! One blade was serrated and the tip slightly dulled, but other than that it is in near perfect shape!

(No trick photography necessary with truly big Bushpig, no sitting 6 feet behind the boar in these photos. The brute weighed in at 102Kg on a farmers old corn grain scale, yet measurements put his weight closer to 110Kg.)

If you have always dreamed of taking a Bushpig with your bow, I can with all honesty tell you that hunting with Gareth Haines and his crew is your absolute best bet in making your dreams come true. There are truly dozens of different sounders we looked over on trailcam photos with many, many different trophy boars available.

Looking at those worn tusks he must be an OLD pig.

Congrats.

His head is HUGE! Congrats!

Fantastic trophy! Well done!

He really is an old chap with a huge head and worn down teeth. What he must have seen and how many hunters he must have eluded!

That is awesome! My PH knows bushpig is at the top of my list this July. I can't wait to do some night hunting for a giant boar. Very cool!

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
